You can't really ask for both of your centre Half's to be so aggressive tbh. Especially against sides who for the most part play single striker systems. So I think it's more tactical than anything else. Burn is the one who goes man to man and Thiaw with his pace covers the space left.

We will have to see how it plays out but I imagine 2-3 of our purples are sold in the summer. Replacing them will be a massive challenge. We are at a crossroads imo.

I think this is a bit of simplistic way to look at it (no offense) We need two goal keepers (surely nobody is paying that 20m clause and do you want to pay Pope a starting salary as a number 2 without Europe?) 2 right backs if Tino leaves If your mad and want to keep Burn and Schar you can skip a centre half but Id want to let one go this summer. A left back is needed to rotate Hall. Need a DM if Sandro leaves. Need to replace Willock. Need a right winter (probably have to peddle Murphy unfortunately as we are stuck with Elanga) A left winger is needed if Gordon goes. A Cf Is needed regardless

Yeah this lines up with what @The Bonk has said about him. He's meant to be good but we are obviously quite unique in that leveraging our owners wealth has to be a key part of his job. Without them are are just a plucky contender who will never be able to close the gap.

And to add on, if we take this post at face value nothing screams lost interest like this does mind.

Yeah, we didn't get out targets perfectly normal when your targeting is way off. We can't compete with Cartel clubs for established players we knew this and a Carabao cup win wasn't going to change this either. Ultimately when you have a pile of cash and you spend it and go backwards it's highly problematic when you throw in the nature of many performances we've witnessed this season this very much puts the spotlight on the manager. Anyways we have to see this season out and review at the end of the season. Go out to Barca and finish bottom half then Eddie's future is up for debate imo (not saying instantly sack him, but I would want to know what's going to change next season and I'd also want to know what my other options are if I'm getting more of this season).

I don't think people have ignored anything honestly, every post on here is about the hardship he's suffered. The amount of money pissed away in the summer blamed on a guy who left before the summer window even opened and who was against this transfer policy The bottom like is, he was given a lot of money to spend, spent it and we've gone backwards. Obviously people can and do point to fatigue and injuries but this is part and parcel of the game and precisely why you have to be extremely circumspect when spending large sums of money I don't want to bash Eddie he's a club legend however in my opinion a lot of hand waving of criticism of him exists, but if we are being honest the alarm bells have been ringing for sometime.

It's obviously absolute nonsense. The league form this season has been unacceptable.
