They are bairns and not ready yet. Yeah maybe some of them could have got a kick against Qarabag but other than what are we talking about? It's such a weird angle.
-
He's turned 19 and Tino is back. we have precisely zero evidence to suggest he's ready to contribute at this level yet. That doesn't mean he won't in the future but he's not ready. Eddie has given chance to youth it's a very odd stick to beat him with and I'm someone who is actually unsure about him being the right person to take the next step with us.
-
Anderson had a loan and played a full season. shahar was an academy signing and only getting a look to make the numbers up. Why are people advocating for players who obviously aren't ready?
-
Which youths are you wanting him to trust?
-
Would struggle not to give Tino a slap if I'm honest.

PSR is obviously a factor it would be churlish to suggest it isn't but at the same time our insistence on shopping in Waitrose doesn't help. I said I don't want to hear anymore complaints about PSR when we spend money the way we do but here we are.
-
That's the issue isn't it? And why I was so against any appointment being ran by him. Many people disagreed with me which is fine but this is the kind of issue which gets created. Still can't believe he mentioned PSR and Isak in his post match conference.

Absolutely man, a tough conversation has to be had this summer if we finish bottom half mind. It's going to be interesting, the Bournemouth lad mentioned when they started falling away the board tried to take away his power and he said fuck that and left. Wouldn't be shocked if a similar situation occured with us.
-
If your letting them spend money you better be sure they will make it to the end of the season. Spinning lots again for him to be fired part way through next season is pretty much worst case scenario for the club.
-
Im not big on participation trophies personally. Who's going to remember we made it to a quarter final of the fa cup? I think at the start of the season the benchmark was set of we need European qualification so that's what the judgement is based upon for me.
-
Fair question and for me those things are a factor for sure but it's very much secondary mind. It's a result based business and given the state of those two derby performances the whole "gets it" talk might be more talk than substance. Either way wouldn't do anything now he's got this season for me.
-
League is the bread and butter and we absolutely need European football next season is probably why. Plus if you break it down it's as follows imo. League (most important ) under par so far Cl par (let's not compare this format to others it's night and day and easy work for clubs with big budgets) Fa cup par League cup slightly above par. Throw in the nature of the performances throughout the season with us often looking poorly coached, brittle defensively and struggling to create chances it's not been pretty.

I understand the context as you know. Nobody put a gun to our head and forced us to buy Wissa for 55m did they? Transfer hit rate has obviously taken a massive dive as well. Time will obviously tell, I expect he gets more time but I wouldn't at all be surprised if we fast forward two years and we are all still having these same debates
-
We are very attractive particularly if we are giving as much input into transfers as we've given Eddie not many such clubs exist nowadays.
-
This is an arguement for getting rid of him no? It's his squad which suddenly isn't good enough isn't it? A squad put together at great expense no less. I think the compelling case for keeping him is you believe he's learnt some lessons and has the ability to turn things around. You also believe he's figured out how to manage a packed schedule too.

alarming to say the least, yet not particularly surprising.

Hes got Klopps old assistant now.

It actually tells me we struggle with video analyst and our coaches are actually shit.

Aaron Ramsdale: return to Southampton confirmed

Aye so the smart thing to do is get rid of the two most expensive ones, keep the remainder as a back up and sign the best we can afford. -
Aye that's the thing right. It's an admission of not being up to playing in multiple competitions at the end of the day. Surprised it washes here honestly.
-
To be fair, given our expectations it's much more difficult for us to take such punts.
-
Do you believe Marinakis just let him get on with it?
-
Maybe they would but he wouldn't get anywhere near the amount of control as he has here like. Brexit Jim would probably sack him for suggesting paying 55m for Wissa if we are being honest like.

We don't entice the players we missed out on. Look at who they joined we've appointed Ross Wilson Eddie would be much better at selling the club than Wilson as he's actually achieved things. We didn't get our top targets because we were smoking crack when we came up with them, might as well have had Messi on the list for good measure.
