Sad thing about the city game is we know he's a much better manager than what he showed this game. Really not sure what's going on with us.
-
Burn will be extended. Popes contract doesn't expire until the end of next season. Schar might also get a new deal. Most of our squad have more than 100 senior top right appearances. One thing we are not short of is experience imo.
-
It should be viewed in terms of revenue yes. Only lens which the classification makes sense.
-
We have a squad full of experienced pros though.
-
Premier league proven though
-
It's an improvement on what was done previously with 2 breaks in quick succession. All of this boring crap should be just played at the start or end of the season though.
-
It's so cheap in aus? FFS I was paying 40sgd per month.
-
Now calculate it with transfer inflation and start from the premier league era and come back to me with your spend and budget calculations. You know we started from zero and you rules have been put in place to block us.
-
It absolutely was panic by the time we got big nick mind. Given we have tried to play him as if was isak should tell you all you need to know about the amount or research we did on him
-
Oh yeah of course it depends on how we utilise our money but I mean generally clubs with our revenue don't spend 70m on players.
-
Last minute panic buy. One they felt they had to take. They knew Wissa was awful business so attempted to hedge it with someone younger with potential upside. Obviously as things stand that gamble has backfired.
-
Unfortunately for everyone I don't think we are of that level where we can just drop 70m on transfer fees.
-
I was against both of those signings so in kind of arguing against myself but that was on paper at the time two oven ready players (both overpays wissa obviously being extreme). I think the point is that if your opening the window spending 70m on a guy with no European football, not particularly young and having 1 good season behind it the risk it represents is significant.
-
Endrick seems to be doing well in Lyon (or was when I checked haven't seen recently) deal seemed to be free if he played too so that would have some sense. I'd like to see us plan more for the long term and part of that means not hanging on to players until retirement.
-
Semenyo was too expensive for our taste, we did ask they told us 70m lol. We just can't afford to spent that. Which kid was available from Madrid? Your referring to Nico Paz? If so he has a 10m buyback clause not a deal that makes sense for us. I don't think loans do much for us tbh we've loaned Ramsale and that has been a complete waste of resources with no upside We are at a crossroads imo, really interested to see what the club will do next.
-
I don't see how we can get said purple to be honest. I mean we tried that in the summer to be fair that was plan a. If your plan a purples go elsewhere what do you pivot too exactly?
-
It doesn't help aye, but we've also looked poor when we had most players fit we just rotated the excuse depending on who was playing. I don't think what we do tactically is particularly effective anymore, and this plan b we seem to have which is possession isnt it either. It's proper shit because I'd love for Eddie to be the man for the long term and hope I'm wrong but I'm struggling to see what we are meant to be at the moment and have felt this way for months.
-
On the flip side it was kind of predictable they would end up missing chunks of this season given the amount of games they played. It's why I mentioned it's important every player in our squad has the ability and trust to play twice a week indefinitely. The squad has a lot of deadweight and always has.
-
It's a midfield which lacks pace and will get ruined in transition imo.
-
Because he can barely move? Have you seen him trying to turn? Seen more agility in masters football. He's obviously been an absolute immense servant but I'd rather he go and remember the good times than witness him trying to actually move on the pitch. As we should have learnt by now. Anyone in our squad needs to be able to play twice a week every week. If they aren't capable of that then they should be moved on.
-
Should be saying thank you for everything to both of them.
-
Yeah I'm aware but again I couldn't careless because a rat is a rat and a journalist will always seek clicks. He still had 3 years left on his contract to be fair. When my old boss promised me a promotion before they left and it wasn't forthcoming I didn't take out on my new boss but then again I'm not a football and I'm an adult Re Trafford, the deal obviously wasn't right for either party mind. Let's not pretend it was his personality which prevented a deal when the numbers obviously weren't right. I'm sure him being a prick didn't help but stopped the deal as in wouldn't sell to us because Mitchell? Not buying it. From what we know we ended up making a deal with them only for a bigger club to come in and take him. Plus it's James Trafford, I really couldn't muster much of a fuck about a keeper so skilled city replaced him in the same window

I think this is reasonable, neutral may have been a tad generous to the gobshit but I think his absence has been over stated. Especially those assertions (not yours btw) that he should have stayed and just signed players he didn't approve of (defeating the object or his job).
