Element of that imo. We definitely would have taken a draw which isnt acceptable to me.
-
Agree, I found it unacceptable and was fuming still am but I'm not going as far as cowardly. Again I do see what we were trying to do but it was completely wrong imo.
-
Isn't cowardly a bit much? Wasn't it more of a case of sit deep to conserve energy and hit them on the break ? Again I don't like this plan against the Mackems but I do see the logic.
-
I'm as disappointed as anyone about both the approach we took and the performance but I wouldn't describe it as cowardly man. That's a step too far. It was a disgrace, a massive disappointment but I don't think you tar someone who's contributed what Eddie has a coward.
-
Bad atmosphere? What? Why would whos larping around the boardroom effect the squad? Squad is better than average like, average clubs would have your hands off for a Tino, Hall Bruno etc.
-
Come off it man. Eddie isn't a coward, he may have made a mistake but let's not exaggerate.
-
I'm sure his answer was nuanced, at least I hope so
-
But that was never possible, and this isn't a knock on Eddie either. We port the cart before the horse so we get to live with the dysfunction. Ultimately what Eddie has achieved makes it worth it right ? But obviously the downsides of what we have don't just go away if we bury our heads. The bigger concern for me is the state of the academy, believing Eddie will make it all right actually has some historical basis but the academy? Fucking hell.
-
Really? I think it's massively overstated personally. I mean what exactly would you pinpoint about it which would have caused us to play dogshit football?
-
Pilkos post was great definitely can't knock it. What I would say is we've witnessed a whole lot of dour performances particularly away from home and it needs addressing. It's also massively worrying the identity we had is witnessed pretty sparingly nowadays.
-
I'm assuming this is in reference to Akilouche?
-
I didn't watch the game but I think Bournemouth look to win the ball higher up the pitch, because we've decided to play this pathetic low block it needs all hands on deck to reduce space and passing lanes.
-
He wasn't even a football fan until he saw it could be lucrative
-
It's a rather canny read actually please keep going Jokes aside, I understand both of the points your making and they have validity imo. Players like Tino are massively at risk of injury he was flagging something awful in the derby, us not being able to have 2 fit right backs at once is a massive headache. Yorkie also makes a good and valid point about the other options not looking particular good. That being said, it does come to a point of those options might not be great but it's better to pick and choose what you do rather than being forced by injury.
-
In @Dokko defense before the Derby he said he was done if we lose and given the manner of the loss I was expecting massive headloss and the forum up in smoke. He's actually walked it back a bit.

We spent 55m on a 29 year old with just one good season behind home. 55m on a winger who can't even dribble. I'm not sure where the guardrail was but fuck me it wasn't half absent. And I agree with you the incoming success have been applauded and massively celebrated on here, I actually give Eddie massive credit not for giving them the nod. (Of course tonali is better than long staff for example) But the Eddie's ability to improve players is the quality which deserves the praise it rightfully gets. Re Elanga, I think Eddie's getting it in the neck because most people saw him see off the guy who said our recruitment wasn't fit for purpose and the fans backed Eddie all the way, then we end up doing thar exact same mistakes by overpaying for a player who went for 15m 2 years earlier who is pretty limited and not what we needed. I think the club has been petty clear from top to bottom that we can't afford mistakes on big transfers and so far this deal is the poster child of bad deals.
-
I said the role they played was on the finance side, as in they drew the line on how much was spent during that period. Correct no? It's a guard rail of sorts. And again, my overall point is clear and often repeated until nausem. But I will do it one more time just for you. The manager shouldn't have any say over who is DOF football. The manager shouldn't have final say on transfers and the club shouldn't be employing the managers nephew.
-
I haven't re wrote anything though. If you feel I have please flag it up happy to clarify.
-
I'm not painting anything man, just stating the facts. Not sure Eddie would be a coveted DOF either mind, it's one of the fallacies of his reign. We've made cracking signings of course but Alexander Isak and Bruno weren't nobodies when we signed them.
-
Yeah the last DOF Got seen off without buying a player The one before that wasn't a transfer buy and ran road as soon as possible. Now we have the guy who also isn't a transfer special who Eddie had a hand in hiring. I'm not one for knocking without cause but it's pretty evident who's in charge when it comes to transfers and it's had its upside right? We can't take away the good ones but as I've said with the upside comes the massive risks which I won't labor as I've explained it.
-
And he has final say. This is common knowledge. You think Steve Nickson and his nephew are telling who he can and can't buy?
-
He does have final say. This is known why is it baseless?
-
Not really when I've held this view stated it on many occasions and got the flak for it when things were going well. For me, the posterboy for the style of management Eddie wants is Fergie and the alarm bells for me always were look at what happened to them when he hung it up. You ok with Eddie picking his own players without questions?
-
No but I'm sure they had guidance in terms of what we could and couldn't do. And as I said, letting him choose his sweets was a risky proposition and oh look, tooth decay.

Reckon nick Shines in a posession based team personally.
