  1. So they are paying Ashley £205m for the club and also paying Ashley the £100m he is owed by the club ergo £305m buys the club and clears the £100m debt!
  2. Just expel the big 6 and promote the top 6 in the Championship sorted.
  3. The whole format of the Super league is clearly driven by the American owners who can't grasp the concept of relegation. When they purchase a sporting franchise they want their asset to be ring-fenced. Forming the Super league with no relegation means they are assured of obscene amounts of money with no prospect of falling off the gravy train!
  4. Exactly and PIF could then be persuaded to match the ESL gravy train by sponsoring the EPL to the tune of £3bn.
  5. Don't really consider him one of the WUM brigade tbh, he's just a bitter ex-player who hasn't come to terms with the fact he was a shit manager. If he had ever been considered a successful manager then his views would be of more interest, but he wasn't. He won some stuff at Liverpool on the back of the groundwork done before him, then he promptly turned that to shit. He also a trophy or two at Rangers where he spent much more than Celtic, the only other club in the league capable of winning anything. Not disputing, but he also won the League Cup at Blackburn. Yet he still went on to prove he was a useless manager with us. No idea what the circumstances were with his short term success at Blackburn, but he proved at Liverpool that winning trophies meant nothing there, they went on a downward spiral so fast the longer he stayed there. They were almost unrecognisable as a big club by the time they kicked him out. Blackburn were one day away from sacking Souness when we went in and offered compensation to take him as NUFC manager. Blackburn couldn't believe how lucky they were to get compensation when they thought they were going to have to pay up his contract when they sacked him!!
  6. Because we haven't seen anyone better even after playing hundreds of games. Green was simply the best. He could give opposition players a 3 yard start and still beat them to a loose ball comfortably and then accelerate away. Brilliant dribbling skills a thunderbolt shot from distance and could ping a long ball pass to feet. He literally terrified defenders and his career ending injury was caused by the only way he could be stopped by fouling him!
  7. That point has kept us out of the relegation spots Its unbelievable that Liverpool have now lost 6 home games in a row!!!!
  8. Where West Ham are. 100% what I was going to say. Keeping Rondon, Perez and Almiron and then giving him the £90 million that Bruce got?! The defence was already sorted. The Longstaff and Hayden pairing was getting better and better every game in midfield. He would have just fleshed out the squad and made the team better in certain areas, and improved the subs options. We would have been top 6 minimum, while threatening a whole lot more, considering how vulnerable the typical top 4 bunch have looked. Totally agree. It's so bastard frustrating. He's a stupid twat Mike Ashley and this for me has been his worst decision as NUFC owner by far. But is it Ashley? Just suppose Ash has divested all responsibility for the club to Barnes and Charnley, and its Charnley who chose Bruce because he is (a plastic) Geordie (as an aside is Charnley a Geordie by birth?), and Barnes bought Joelinton because he relied upon the judgement of Nixon who said his value would sky rocket.
  9. Me too!!! Could hardly speak after we all chanted "Howay the lads" for the entire second half!! As you say a great day out and we managed to drive back to Newcastle in time for last orders!!!
  10. Not really. If it doesn't go through he gets to keep the non refundable deposit of £17m.
  11. My worry is if Ashley sticks with Bruce in the Championship, he just might take us down to join the great SMB's in League One!!!
  12. The hierarchy are gambling that the 25 points we got from games at the start of the season can be replicated in the games leading up to the end of the season.
  13. Ole saying cheers for the 3 points Steve. Bruce saying No bother Ole your welcome !
  14. Ffs Ashley swallow your pride and tell Bruce to Fuck off and offer Rafa whatever he wants to come back and save us !!!
  15. Well at least we know Bruce will be told to pack his bags tomorrow morning x
  16. I thought Staveley was going to get a 10% share for the work she does setting up and completing the takeover?
  17. I posted on here yesterday the question of whether Ashley would ask Rafa to come back on a short term contract etc and would be in situ as manager if the takeover goes through. Looks like its developed into a rumour overnight!
  18. If Ashley does sack Bruce, who do we think he will appoint as his replacement. Is it possible he would go to Rafa and say look I know we don't see eye to eye, but I'm going to be gone from this club soon. Will you accept a contract to the end of the season to keep the club in the EPL. If the takeover falls through, or we get relegated, and you cannot work with me, you can walk away at the end of the season. Keep us up and you get a bonus, and if the takeover goes through I know the consortium want you as manager so you will already be in situ for them. A possibility or just a dream!!!
  19. Alternatively he knows nothing yet and is just showing a bit of solidarity to the cause by liking the tweet.
  20. If passing legislation to allow real madrid tax breaks not afforded to most of the other La Liga clubs isn't a government bail out I dont know what is!
  21. The Spanish Government passed legislation way back in 1990 declaring Real Madrid to be a non for profit Sporting club owned by its members and therefore exempt from tax. This is how they are able to buy the best players as they don't have to pay tax. To be fair they also afforded the same privilege to Barca, Athletic Bilbao, and Osasuna, but that was probably so they couldn't be accused of favouring Real Madrid I heard that and he was Implying that proved they weren't legally separate. A government bailout doesn't prove they are of the same entity. The Spanish government bailed out Real Madrid when they were on the verge of going bust many years ago, and I believe its not the first time they have done so, but that doesn't mean the government and Real Madrid are the same entity! No they didn't. [emoji38] They did they bought the ground for millions and gave it back to them didn’t they? I remember they received a massive amount of illegal state subsidies a good few years ago but think they were forced to pay it all back? Firstly, it was the local government that bought the land off them not the actual Spanish government. Secondly they were forced to pay some of it back by the EU in illegal state aid but not the whole transaction. Thirdly, it affected several other clubs. https://www.ft.com/content/750e14a2-3f94-11e6-9f2c-36b487ebd80a
