John Carver was threatening and swore at Newcastle fans, claims eyewitness Caretaker manager's version of events contradicted by supporter who witnessed row during Swansea game http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/newcastle-united/11565414/John-Carver-was-threatening-and-swore-at-Newcastle-fans.html

They play Reading at home in their last game so they should be OK. EDIT: 1 point will be enough. Boro v Derby in the play-offs on the cards.

Regardless of what you "think", it's a fact that result-wise he's done much better than Pardew.

Comparing McClaren with Pardew is a bit silly IMO. McClaren has managed England, managed in Europe, won a league title in Holland, won a cup with Boro, won the lot as Sir Alex's no 2. Pardew has won fuck all and we picked him up from League 1.

Exactly. McClaren is about the best we can hope for until Ashley fucks off.

Good piece, the only thing I miss is questioning him about how he now seems convinced the players are not good enough and blames the small squad, while back in January-February this was the guff: “We’ve got options, we’ve got flexibility,” said the coach who felt no need to ask the board for the striker and centre-half many observers believed Newcastle required last month “I didn’t ask because I know I’ve got a group of players who can get us through to the end of the season – before Monday we actually had too many players,” he said.
  18. 80 applicants and now we're down to the créme de la créme.
