In an ideal world no, but we don't live in one and won't. That's also why there are rules in football, why there are cards, so you can be punished. A tackle to break up a counter attack is also cheating then? Do we really want football where players can't come close to each other? It's all about taking advantage of the other team and beat them, and had Gyan scored no one would be talking about Suarez handball. He did what most intelligent players would do in that situation. That's my opinion. No, tackles are allowed in football, and a big part of the game. Don't see your point there. Yeah, tackles where you get the ball. Not tackles where you don't, otherwise there wouldn't be punishments for it. So my point is that a last ditch tackle, handball, breaking up counter attacks, wasitng time are all illegal parts of the game and cheating as well then. Yeah, tackles where a player intentionally takes out the player instead of the ball (see Solskjaer example) and intentional handball is cheating, that's correct. Time-wasting is more difficult to assess and I'm not sure what the rule book says tbh. So is fouling a player in basketball as you're preventing someone from scoring. Jesus, what type of football is this that you want the world to see? We're going to have to agree to disagree. Basketball? Who's talking about basketball? Tackles should be made with the aim to get the ball, that's hardly controversial.

Well, it's obviously something that has to be assessed in the given situation. Solskjaer's tackle on Rob Lee is a good example of a foul that should be severely punished. Don't remember what he got like (more than a red card).

It's about respecting the game. Cheating is an insult to the game of football. I think it's one of the biggest problems in football today; many managers, players, journalists, even fans don't respect the game; today it's about winning at any price. Is that what we want football to be reduced to? A game that's exclusively about winning or losing?

Didn't they get promoted? Sure I saw that they would be the first top division team in Europe with a female manager or something like that? No they're in Ligue 2, finished 14th.

Fairly Giggs, it was a couple of weeks back I think. Still,

whiskas only ask 10 cat's and it's been taken as gospel for years Aye, but they're very, very average cats.

Yes he did.

"The wasp" was absolutely brilliant for us. Great memories.

Yeah it's mad that people discuss football on an NUFC forum IMO It's mad that people have such strong opinions on subjects about which they know nothing. You think it's strange that fans have strong opinions on matters regarding their football club?

Hands off Jimmy! Don't touch Jimmy! http://thesportshernia.typepad.com/.a/6a00d83451b84f69e2012875a6ec70970c-320wi

Big risk of undermining the manager, a risk they're obviously willing to take.

At least their board are clear about the fact that they demand improvement and they're hiring an attacking coach. Fat Sam isn't bulletproof, unlike Pardew. So aye, our situation definitely worse.

Wouldn't surprise me if we leave him there on loan and then sell him on straight away before his value inevitably goes down due to pardewing. We handle players like shares.

That's a big if though. Very different leagues, will be a big step for the young lad. Finding it hard to be excited about a signing from the Spanish Second Division tbh.

While he's mainly a good defender he's definitely not "really poor" going forward. Very good player imo.

I hate the man more than anything else, but he can get results, he's proven that time and time again. I do wonder though how come even fans end up hating him despite all the titles he has won at clubs. Definitely a good appointment, although I hope he fails miserably. It's the face. Undoubtedly the face. I mean look at this: http://www.101greatgoals.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Louis-Van-Gaal-Bayern-Mun-001.jpg

Lowball bid already rejected. It was one of Joe Kinnear's attempted coups - him and Shane Ferguson.

Extremely punchable face. Smiley material?

Aye they should donate us the FA cup.
