Good start for the Russians. Exactly what they needed. -
2 wins from first 5 games, and I'd be happy.

Our recent record against Cardiff is good, let hope it stays that way.

In saying that, October, November, December looks pretty decent. Points to be gained.

France will get 1st, but who gets 2nd is interesting. I fancy Peru, but Denmark clearly could finish 2nd. Going to be tough for the Aussies, but you never know. -
Wow - insane story

Going to have a little £5 treble on Peru, Serbia, Poland to qualify from groups.

Group H - Poland, Senegal, Colombia, Japan - COL & JPN advance
samptime29 replied to Wullie's topic in Football
It is but think people are overrrating Japan a bit. Don't see how they're even close to the other sides. Expect Colombia to win it and Senegal to squeeze through as 2nd placed. Kamil Gliks injury is going to cost Poland from advancing. Think Colombia are a dark horse for the whole thing. There's not one team they can't beat on a good day. Good offensive players in James, Cuadrado, Falcao, Bacca and Muriel a long with a lot of steel defensively and in midfield. Extremely physical side. Yeah Colombia are certainly a threat. I think Poland will nibble second behind Colombia, but it will be tight IMO. -

Must keep Lascelles. He is our rock, and team clearly looks more solid when he plays. -

To further this, when he's played centrally for Germany he neither scores or assists. If he's not going as an out and out winger, then why take him? He'll be wasted. Why don't they play him in his best position? You could argue they do and don't at the same time He plays across the attacking 3 in a 4231, but they are generally quite a narrow trio and he's encouraged to stay inside. His best play for City is often hugging the touch line. Even when he played in a 433 for Germany recently, he's required to cut inside rather than stay wide from the LW. Cutting in from LW onto his right foot is hardly promoting his talent. It's a contradiction to his club form. Bless him. Fair enough, tbf it's not like I've been watching the German qualifying games or owt. Still think he would've been a useful sub to have, at the very least.
