  1. This will most likely go down shite on here, but I find Eales mildly irritating, seen lots of footage of him, it sort of feels like he's faking this super fan shite, singing songs etc, feels like Ashley's honeymoon period vibes, Nufc shirt on downing pints. Edit: On the ticketing side, the switch in time/day probably caused fans from far and wide to be unable to make it. Still, I think the ballot sucks, and prefer the old system.
  2. I felt a bit like this, I did find it quite poor, mainly from the lack of goal threat, Wilson looked so isolated at times, similarly Isak did vs Brighton, I think attack wise it something we might need to address, we went through a spell like this last season, but Howe found a solution.
  3. This transfer could be of the Sterling to Liverpool calibre.
  4. That last video is pathetic, is this what people do these days? Utterly weird self obsessed wanker society, glad my time was before shit like this for entertainment, fucking tiktok, the pits. The poster mentioning unbearable is on the money.
  5. Try something different Try something completely different
  6. Those highlights on the EFL show were quality, mackems have some top young players, thought Ba and Ekwah looked really good. Great flair side, but will they have the experience that it takes to get out of that league?
  7. Just Cabaye having the hottest ? of showers

    Nick Pope

I always fear the worst when he leaves his box, he just looks clumsy as fuck, like he has deep sea diver boots on.
  9. Think I'd have stuck with Isak on the left and not bothered bringing Barnes on at all, would have left that sub free to protect Schar or another player being injured.
  10. You have. I was not comparing Tonali or Brunos contribution, or any of the midfielders. I considered the midfield as a whole, and what the thinking behind signing Sandro was, because its not given any of the midfield any creativity or free'd anyone up, they're all doing the same thing adding nothing new to our game, it's actually (although obviously relatively new for them all), hindered our movement going forward, I feel we missed Willock and what Joelinton brought last season driving us forward, a ball carrier. Maybe they need more time, but I think I'd much prefer one of the three sticking to the holing role, and the other two taking the time between them to drive us forward.
  11. Feel Eddie needs to find a way to make having both Wilson and Isak on the pitch work, I feel Isak finds loads of time and space when in wide positions anyway, it hardly hurts us when he posses the dimensions to be such a flexible style of player.
  12. I'm struggling to understand what adding Tonali to the midfield offers? Don't get this wrong, I'm in no way questioning Tonali's ability or him as a player, but as the next piece to our puzzle, it's not looking like the piece that fits, one of those three needs to be the keys to the door, yet all three sit off and do the same role.
  13. From memory they dominated us at their place last season and we were hanging on to the death. SJP we pressed them from their box, we made it tough, they couldn't get their playing it out from the back thing going as we were on them right away, its pointed out also they had no macallister for the majority, and Caicedo played a poor game at fullback. I'm not buying the whole their midfield is weak now based on Macallister/Caicedo they're a top side and have excellent players in all areas, and I'm sure they'll have the next Macallister in the making among their recruitment. I don't think they fear anyone at home, and I think they'll be all over us, it'll be a game we'll need to manage well and do everything absolutely on point to come away with anything. Hope we win but I'm not reading much into it if we don't, I'd predict the Eddie Howe thread will be full of knackers if we lose.
  14. The squad we have is enough, when quizzed on last minute buys. Along those lines
  15. We really should do a last ditch hijack, with the champions league lure ?
  16. Sorry, I didn't mean that in a complete cuntish manner. I was leaning to overseas sport and the levels, scholarships, etc, failure isn't an option stuff, understandably countries with huge population have larger pools to pick from reminding me not everyone is going to make it, I just felt the need to be the best is a more ruthless thing abroad, and does this influence how some think when it comes to a particular sport. It just crossed my mind if some people who see sport in that way could just easily be ruthless and call for Howe and just not care, I'm sure that some probably do, but labelling all overseas fans that way was a shite take, apologies.
  17. Are the majority of those still blaming Eddie UK based or overseas? I'm really curious. I'm only curious because I know in a lot of overseas sport, there's a lot of result driven fans, that's all that seems to matter to them, the bigger picture doesn't seem to register. As Brummie put it, zoom out a bit.
  18. Thanks for bringing a sensible outside view to the party. ?? 19th in the league to 4th, a cup final after decades. Two losses to arguebly the two strongest Premier league sides in the last decade, we only lost five games last season three of them to the sides who have handed our losses this season. It's a total overreaction. "We only want a club that tries" What we got so far, was a club, owners, manager, flags, feel good factor, a chance to dream again, we got so much more, 10 birthdays and 10 Christmas rolled into one. For some absolute arseholes it's never, ever enough, Wake the fuck up! If you are the type out there who think it's now top four every season, then you are those fans who got Newcastle labeled the deluded geordies back in the 90s, yes I do believe eventually we will become a force if the owners deliver on all their promises, but, its not granted. These lads, Eddie, the board all knew, all admitted we over acheived, it's a luxury right now, we're very lucky, there's a long, long way to go, loads of work to put in, and it's progress, you could never ever right off Eddie Howe unless you're an absolute fucking moron.
  19. This is true, but he gets the most opportunities for himself and to create or play in others, and he continues to get them wrong. Work rate he's in the top three players, decisions he only knows to hold and wait for Trippier. He contributed to Isak not being involved for me yesterday, Trippier looks for Miggy, the midfielders look to get Miggy in behind, did Miggy look for Isak or create one opportunity for him yesterday, I don't think he did. We need to start finding our Striker and getting the balls in the box early. Just another opinion, but granted he performs each week, I just wish he'd use his striker more than going solo.
  20. I'm worried how fast people turn on the players/staff. I truly believe if we crash out of the Champions League early and are a few places off the top four, most people will forget everything we have achieved in a short space and be calling for Eddie's head. I'm with Shearer and some of the other pundits out there, I do think we'll struggle to get top four this season, I also think this isn't the season for us, (It's an opportunity to look into the future regarding UCL) I believe the following season after this one is where we'll see us challenge the top 4/5. Right now this season I wouldn't be at all disheartened if we ended up in the Europa League, I wouldn't be bothered if we didn't win a trophy either. I can see the progression and I think Eddie is the person to take us there, his obsession with fitness and levels has taken players playing at below 50% to another level, the only time you'll see this look like we're dropping is when you play sides that operate a similar standard, Man City and Liverpool have the same standards, and even more to bring from their benches, you only have to look at Gordon who clearly arrived unfit physically and probably mentally, then translate that to Everton who are a total mess right now, Eddie and his OCD on fitness, levels, being at the optimum is the recipe for success. I just prey the majority don't call for him based on this seasons success or failure. If you don't expect as much you won't feel like you've lost a great deal.
