He's off setting targets already ?? -
I'll answer that, no! We instantly become weaker, then other players try to make up ground for his inconsistency, but, those players then get the blame. Wood is a player I'd use if I had absolutely no choice, it was a terrible signing for the price, but people will somehow argue and make a case because we stayed up Wood played a big part? We stayed up because of Bruno and other signings, but let others believe what they want to.

Conor Gallagher on loan, That would be a great loan signing.

Brighton vs. Newcastle United: 13/08/22 @ 3PM (No UK TV)
mighty__mag replied to 54's topic in Football
Super computer has them to finish top six? In fairness they're a good side, and a good result versus Man Utd. I see Potter and Howe very similar, nice guys, similar style/philosophy, organised, both send their sides out for a the win, and both are ambitious. Think this will be a very close game, we haven't drawn a game in over 20+ games now, and since Eddie came in there were a few draws and losses, but he was getting to grips with the transition early doors, ever since the new players arrived and the players understood his vision, we've racked up 17 wins. Massive season for Howe, Brighton are a good side, tough away game, but, I just feel if we keep players fit, Howe will surprise a lot of people this season. I feel confident we can get the win. 1 - 2 -

Newcastle United 2-0 Nottingham Forest (06/08/2022)
mighty__mag replied to loki679's topic in Football
I thought Wilson was quiet most of the first and second, but, he proves no matter when the chance comes, he can take it. All three midfielders did really well, Bruno topping it off, out wide ASM was really good, and Miggy just needs to make slightly better decisions, think like the midfield the back four were all solid also, with Targett being the stand out. Overall a really good team display, and great opener for a nice change. For Forest, I thought number 19 Niakhaté was solid, looked a really good defender, I feel he was causing Wilson problems most of the game. Really great start, onwards and upwards ?? -

Well the daughter loved it today, first game, she was amazed when we got into the ground, she even had a flag to wave around, and loved all the fan chants. She loves Bruno, and is looking forward to her next trip. ?- 967 replies

Brilliant news this, the owners clearly see the quality he has. Best thing that happened to him was staying out of the game and revising his strategy, he's come back stronger, and its totally evident. ??

James Maddison (now playing for Tottenham Hotspur)
mighty__mag replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
It's funny, although most of us would welcome James Maddison signing, is he really needing a move to improve his England chances etc? He's been selected once, Southgate is pretty consistent in selecting the same midfielders, so Maddison would only really ever be on standby if there was a serious injury, in terms of Southgate's past selections, Maddison is behind a great deal of midfielders no matter where you'd likely fit him in, and the way I see it, in southgate's set up, he doesn't really fit. Rice/Mount/Phillips/Bellingham/Henderson/Foden/Grealish/Sterling/Ward-Prowse/Gallagher/Smith-Rowe. I'm really surprised instead we don't turn our attention to someone like Conor Gallagher, he's a player who has a great chance of still becoming an England player, most of his loan development has seen progression, from Swansea, WBA, and recent as Crystal Palace where he chipped in with 10 goals and 5 assists, still only 22. I'm quite surprised that there's not plenty of clubs chasing his signature, if anything it's been relatively quiet in terms of interest in Gallagher. He's certainly a player with a decent future, but I personally don't see it with Chelsea. -

With a world cup coming up and just under a month left of business, there's plenty of time for something to happen. -

Every other post now, we don't need Maddison, we should focus on a right winger and a striker 3 days ago, Maddison is world class, will take us to the next level, we don't need a right winger Miggy will come into his own, -

Heard similar that he's hoping the Nufc interest will trigger a Spurs bid? God knows what their agents tell them. -

I'd have us comfortably 8th without any serious injury losses over the season. Equally with the little to no injuries and a small investment again in January, possibly even a place higher. I think our season will be defined by how fit the camp stay.

We had similar with Woodman at Swansea, he did excellent, but turned out he probably wasn't ready for the prem still. It's not always easy for keepers. -

Dubs might play a big part in this transfer now Schmeichel is off to Nice. They targeted Leno who signed for Fulham, now they will need to either go with Ward as no1 or Dubravka as part ex possibly? Just thought -

Yes but Cornet can play up front or wide so you'd tick a lot of boxes. Plus 17m is brilliant value for a versatile forward, scored 9 last season. Played 21 matches (plus 5 as a sub). Had 22 shots on target from a total of 38 shots and scored 9 goals (6.57 xG). Maxwel Cornet averaged 15 passes per match with a pass completion rate of 71%, and had 1 assist. Not even sure a loan forward gets 9 goals? Each to their own.?? -

You'd just sign Maddison and Cornet, then not bother with a striker wouldn't you? -
