  1. Its a shame really, after absolutely embarrassing Sunderland at the Where's Wally arena, we have three more away ties on the bounce, Fulham/Blackburn and now City, who are usually favourites. If we don't win today, I guess we just have to look back at the Sunderland game, we still have that to laugh about, and our memorable team photo.
  2. They have, not in the early stages, but they're being investigated for the last ten years, and any new rules that stop them using their previous loop holes will hinder them. They need the FMV rules to go after city because its likely most of their breaches will come under hidden owner investment. City are still in their growth, they've only just won their first UCL in over two decades, they've just submitted a 300m plan to expand the Etihad, two decades they're still growing their fanbase, we need to do the same, but it won't be for a good while, and these conversations will change, and we will all be a lot grayer! In a weird way, it's sort of a safety net that it took the new owners 4yrs to acquire the club, we could have gone down the same route as city had we made an immediate purchase and be looking at a total mess in years to come. Anyway, I'm checking out of here, because there's far more qualified people who understand business, but it's just another opinion, I guess while it's really frustrating, time will tell, and being patient pays off.
  3. These are business people at the top of their game, they're hardly sat around wondering what to do? They'll no doubt be advised by the absolute best, what Man City did wasn't a walk in the park, people forget now because they're serial winners, but at the beginning it took them time, they have been getting all the infrastructure in place and still continues to do so to this day, obviously some dodgy business has gone on along the way and that awaits it's own problem. The Newcastle owners and Shareholders can't take the risks they did, but they will be working on all the infrastructure and the development side, this will be huge in growing the club, stadium, transportation, accommodations, training facilities and more, we're just going to all have to accept its going to take time and to be done correctly. Most our fans and social media focus solely on the first team football and transfer business, it's literally all people think a club is about, I forget myself, then need to remind myself were looking at a 10yr plan here most likely. I hear your frustration though, maybe in the not too distant future clubs will challenge the rules, but I'd assume it would take more than Newcastle to make anything significant.

    England

When you look at the line up, I fully agree with every forward selected, bar Rashford. Maybe Solanke is unfortunate on his own form. Midfield, I find unusual he selects Henderson/Gallagher, it's blatantly obvious Phillips was only selected based on playing for Man City, he's now out of the picture, I do wonder why Harvey Elliott is overlooked, Gibbs-White, and Eze. Defence, Braithwaite, Maguire, and Chilwell, I think Kilman/Quansah and Livramento deserve as much chance as those above.
  5. If he was responsible for most of the recruitment 2013/14/15 when Pochetino and Koeman were managing Southampton, then that's enough for me. Their recruitment back then should have seen them competing for Europe, but the team they built was decimated in next to no time.
  6. People are speculating 6 months.
  7. Maddison went from 100k to 170k That's all I see. I still believe he took a risk based on what I pointed out, no Kane, Ange possibly not working out? Hypothetically he could have been looking at a Chelsea/Poch situation, but, its all looking like it might work out as he'd hoped.
  8. Spurs finished outside all the European places last season, won nowt, lost Harry Kane, and hired a relatively unknown manager, they attracted James Maddison, Van de Ven, Vicario, among others. You mentioned major European clubs putting in offers, Spurs were not in Europe, many clubs were in for Maddison and the others, clubs that offered champions league, and Uefa Cup, they still chose spurs, so your point isn't really valid. Players choose clubs based on wages, let's get real. ??
  9. Thank fuck I was in the sane group. Why 101 thought in 2022 it was a good idea is beyond daft. Obvious some sort of fondness towards him, he was a nice guy, and I liked his exposing of Ashley, unfortunately though his football was dull.
  10. There's the point. However, what do the rich do,they exploit, they look for loop holes. There's an obvious loop hole we have a greater opportunity to exploit than anyone, the Saudi league and astronomical transfers between the parties, if the PL want to be wankers, just do this, and there's probably sweet fuck all they could do!
  11. One huge reason we had the best defence in the league last season and not so much this season, was because we had Pope, we had a consistent eleven that didn't see many injuries, and was rarely meddled with, we also had natural leaders in the first eleven more often than this season, Trippier, Wilson, Joelinton, Burn, Pope. Right now we've got an inconsistent eleven, missing leaders, and players playing their first season and still learning the game.
  12. Yeah, it's a none event, especially City at home. Just see an easy win for them.
  13. Reading the comments here, many don't rate him, especially at 100m Needs an Inhaler to get around the pitch, zero pace
  14. A few praising his crossing, last night I don't think he managed one delivery that was met from god knows how many attempts. Another thing he lacks is decision making, often will be selfish shooting instead of passing, seen many times his colleagues fume at him for this. Saying that though Almiron has done the same on numerous occasions, the answer is a solid signing on the right.
  15. Definitely not having a meltdown like so many already have, I totally get some of the points made mind. My only slightly growing concern is the same one I've used before, Howe is reactive in subs, not proactive. The loyalty shown towards certain players is a mild concern, but if he feels absolutely forced due to lack of experience on the bench then I can sort of understand, but with a fully fit side Longstaff should never see the first team again.
  16. Couldn't agree more ? Tinfoil hat, but a performance like that, you could argue they threw the game. Genuine disinterest everywhere. Bruno has been the diamond in a turd of late, but even he looked off it.
  17. The attempted crosses have been laughable, Fully expect Livramento to be out with injury, they've done a total number on the lad.
  18. I just fumed at that. It was the pathetic stroll up, had the overlap, and just walked it into be easily dispossessed.
  19. We're not aggressive anymore, none of the old nasty Newcastle, just weak, inept, sloppy, no heart football.
  20. Everything is shite, not just at the back, going forward we're clueless, delivery from Murphy has been shite. Almiron totally ineffective also.
