  1. This. Maybe it was a good performance if you ignore the fact nearly all of his challenges were mistimed and that he lost possession numerous times, one of which could have easily have resulted in us going behind. His little cameo run and shot was half decent, that's about it.
  2. Considering Villa are the self-proclaimed best support in the Championship, I thought they were absolutely dreadful. 1,700 and the irony that every other song was 'your support is fucking shit', especially when you factor in that they've had to close parts of their own ground because they cant fill the seats. Their squad is exactly what I thought it was, a bang average Championship side that will probably struggle again next season without good investment. They've signed the 'best players' from very average teams in this league without any thought about whether or not those players fit into the system they want to play or work together. It was like watching 11 individuals that have never played together before. Maybe I've only ever caught him on bad days, but is Hogan good at all like? Considering he was linked with a PL move, every time I see him he's been very average at best. Absolutely glorious that Lansbury bottled the entire match, was one of the worst on the field and scored the own goal to settle any nerves. Karma. The fact that they still bang on about sending us down despite being on the verge of a huge relegation battle to League One goes to show how small-minded and obsessed they are. Our first half performance was poor, but as soon as we scored we never looked remotely threatened at all. A very comfortable win in the end and sets us up well. The display from Gallowgate flags was brilliant although the atmosphere was pretty flat for most parts, thought the atmosphere against Derby was better.
  3. https://www.villatalk.com/topic/16169-prematch-thread/?page=4 I love this stereotype of our support. The first sentance of that post is one of the most ridiculous things I've read. There's a reasonable amount of evidence to back up what he's saying, tbf. We're pretty s**** at home and have some really minging results to show that - and the crowd have been either quiet or quick to moan for the majority of the season. Derby was an exception and hopefully the efforts of GallowgateFlags will get them pumped tonight. Really looking forward to this tbh. No idea what the score is gonna be. A win is massive; back to the top and nine points clear of 3rd ahead of what will probably be the pivotal section of the season. Other than a moan or goan at a misplaced pass - which happens in every single ground in England, what discontent has been shown this season? Even during shit losses, has there even been a single bewwww at FT? The lack of atmosphere is not just at SJP it is a national problem but our ground is still relatively atmospheric in comparison to most others. We've also won 10 of our 15 home games, I'd hardly call that 'pretty shit'.
  4. Newcastle -1 @ 7/4 Newcastle -2 @ 9/2 Newcastle & Over 2.5 @ 7/4 Newcastle 3-0 @ 11/1 £25 on each, guaranteed for us to lose now.
  5. Aye, I backed them but put it in a double with Huddersfield. Idiot. 3/1 was very generous for them though.
  6. The fact that this was published by The Sun tells you all that you need to know.

  8. Our game is almost certain to be moved for TV coverage. We're playing Ipswich two days later so you'd expect this to be moved to the Friday.
  9. They look exactly like we did this time last year, their defeat at Swansea was so similar to our performances. We left it too late to make a change, wonder if they will.
  10. Clear favourite to be the next manager to leave. They don't have a track record of binning managers during the season though, even when Pearson was doing dreadful he was given the entire season (which actually worked out in the end). Would be surprised if he's sacked, unsurprised if he resigns.
  11. I know it's wrong but I find myself really liking Neil Warnock, quite a character at times. He does very well at this level, often with very limited resources.
  12. Anyone know anything about him? Never heard of him personally.
  13. You do realise Celtic have dropped two points this season? Aye - proving the point that the entire league is garbage. Beat Celtic and be relatively average in every other match and you'll have every chance of winning the tinpot league. A Pardew managed team isn't going to win every game they play ffs Never said they would, nor would they need to. Celtic will not be the same force next season as Dembele will be off for a start. You're hugely underestimating how toilet the standard is in Scotland, Pardew would easily be able to be competitive to Celtic at that level and that is all you need to do to have a chance.

  15. Sadly the Scottish league system is so absolutely terrible he'll probably win the league next season.
  16. Imagine a quarter final tie of Lincoln v Oxford/Millwall/Sutton.
  17. Can see Brighton dropping more points today, Barnsley doing well and it'll be a tough game.
