  1. Gallows is definitely Atsu He never posts during a match that Atsu is involved in...
  2. They'll want a replacement for Anichebe while he's injured, you'd think. Aye, but when they are running on very limited funds you'd expect other areas to be a much bigger priority.
  3. Aye, a striker is the position they really need to strengthen
  4. I presume most people agree that DR Congo winning this and knocking Ghana out would be more beneficial for us. Would prefer Atsu home earlier than Mbemba. Especially as the winner of this will miss the next two matches.
  5. Sutton have just won £90k for winning that tie, they've made over £400,000 so far from TV and prize money without factoring in gate receipts. A big draw away at Man Utd/Arsenal etc. would be worth about another £1.25m for them in TV and gate receipts.
  6. Fantastic that was. Highlights even further how disgusting it was that Lincoln were not televised yesterday.
  7. Sutton have been superb and fully deserve to win this game.
  8. Leeds going out to Sutton would make me feel better. Mainly because the father-in-law is a Leeds fan and gave me no end of shit yesterday.
  9. Linked with a loan move to Wolves today.
  10. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38789336
  11. This Millwall v Watford game has unsurprisingly been absolutely garbage.
  12. Edit - Didn't realise Watford were playing on Tuesday. Well done to the BBC for scheduling this for today.
  13. Who does have the best squad in the Championship then? The side that wins it...and regardless of what anyone thinks a strong squad would not lose 3-0 at a Div 1 side. If NUFC have the strongest squad there must be some strong squads in Div 1 then.. Why must there be "some strong squads in Div 1"? On that basis there must be some strong squads in the Championship because Wolves have just beaten Liverpool reserves. To suggest our squad is anything other than very strong in comparison to the rest of the Championship is just utter stupidity. Our first choice XI might be streets ahead but the fall off afterwards is precipitous. Gamez, Good, Barlaser, El-Mhanni, Haidara are not even our back-up players. You could argue the same with Mitro as Murphy seems to be ahead of him atm. None of the five players above (Mitro excluded) have been near the first team in league matches all season, other than Gamez who has played very few minutes. That wasn't our first team playing yesterday, it wasn't even our second team playing, it was virtually a third eleven. Our squad is head and shoulders above every single one of the other teams in the Championship, by a clear margin. Other than Hayden (and maybe Perez) I don't think any of the players who started that game will even be in our squad next season, they'll be flogged or sent out on loan. Spurs nearly lost at home to League Two Wycombe, Liverpool lost at home to a poor Championship side in Wolves, Brighton lost away at Conference side Lincoln. These things happen and you run the risk of them happening if you play a disjointed eleven of misfits and youngsters (which all of those teams did). It happens every year in the cup, it happens to us more frequently because we consistently play weakened teams in this competition.
  14. Great news him coming home, he was just coming into some great form before he went away.
  15. He did some decent little chest traps and flicked headers. The run for the penalty was also good. Unfortunately he missed three absolutely great chances including one where he fell over the ball. And obviously missed a penalty (which I said at the time should've been given to someone else). Overall he was very poor and because of those misses I would say he cost us the game. That said, in the second half the whole team didn't turn up. And additionally, Ayoze was also pap. I like what Klopp said the other day about Sturridge something like, "he had two chances, however he is human - so he missed these chances". Mitrovic has just come back from an injury (which looked grim), thrown into a dysfunctional eleven of misfits and youngsters playing a system they don't usually and expected to score every chance he gets to singlehandedly win us the game. Not accounting for the keeper keeping him out with some good saves. Aye, he was very poor today - but did anyone come out of this with any credit? The whole team was dreadful. Where was Perez, what was he doing? What did he achieve as one of our most senior players? Maybe if Mitrovic employed some tit to make social media posts about loving the Geordie nation stood beside a Christmas tree as Perez does, he'd get less criticism. Mitrovic has played well this season when he has started matches, other than today and against Blackburn. Gayle has also had some stinkers this season where he's barely touched a ball and we've lost the game. It happens. It also happens more frequently if you are dipped in and out of the team and you struggle for consistency and good performances, especially as a striker. See Sturridge at Liverpool. People mentioned Murphy coming in and hitting the ground running - well he didn't against Wolves in the EFL Cup (where he missed chances and was pretty average). Murphy has scored in the last two games against really woeful opponents in dire form. The Rotherham keeper for example, was embarrassingly bad. Whereas today, the Oxford one had a stormer. I'm not saying Mitro will be a great success or anything. I firmly believe that Rafa will sell him, but he is used as a scapegoat by a large majority of our support. If we started him every week as we do with Gayle, he'd have a similar goal tally at this level. Whether he's good enough next season if we are a PL club is a completely different story.
  16. Didn't realise how badly Monchengladbach were doing this season like. 3 points from relegation.
  17. Are you for real have a look at that team man f*** of no hopers and s*** It sounds like he had opportunities. Can't blame the manager or the team for him missing. You can't pin everything on Mitrovic. The whole team sounded awful 2nd half. He is and always has been a scapegoat for a large majority of our support. Not excusing the fact that he should have scored today, but he's certainly not the only person to blame. Misses 3 big chances, demands the penalty and misses it and he's being scapegoated? He misses sitters literally all the time like, I couldn't care less if he's passionate or cares if he's not doing his job. Poor today, poor against Blackburn - been fine or good in every other game he has started this season. Has one of the highest goal rates in the league too. Not sure what you mean. He's scored 3 times in 14 appearances. 7th highest goals per minute ratio in the league.
  18. Glad two Premiership reserve teams is on rather than Lincoln v Brighton like.

  20. His age and first season in the PL are irrelevant to the fact that he was a big reason we went down. Wasn't Gini our top scorer BTW? Calling Dummett a dickhead is a bit harsh too like Aye, he was - my error. Point still stands on Dummett though.
  21. A 21 year old in his first season playing in the PL expected to lead the line and win games singlehandedly for a team who created next to fuck all ffs. He also finished as our top scorer Ignoring the total crock of dickheads like Dummett, Colo, Taylor, Sissoko, Wijnaldum who were all much more constructive in getting the side relegated.
  22. Mitro a key part of our relegation
  23. From the top of my head. Win = Spurs away last season. Draw = Liverpool away last season. mackems at home to draw.
  24. I give it 48 hours before some sort of useless newspaper releases a story saying that Ashley told Rafa to throw the cup competitions and that's why we went out today.
