Literally no idea what the 19th minute clap was all about. I've made a conscious decision to just not join in with any of them now.

Thank fuck for that.

First time I've seen that Dembele and he looks absolutely class.

Coral are the worst bookies out there, avoid at all costs. Don't sign up through other websites either, no matter how tempting the offer is. .com earn commission for every deposit you make on Coral after. -
A defeat today puts them firmly in the shit. Come on Burnley.

Get in! Great hit that.

Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League
Figures 1-0 Football replied to Figures 1-0 Football's topic in Football
Brighton have a tough run of games coming up: Fulham (a), Preston (a), Huddersfield (a), Sheff Wed (h), Newcastle (h) Not totally unreasonable to expect them to drop points in 2 or 3 of those games. That said, 2nd still gets you promotion and there isn't any other teams in this league who can genuinely challenge us or Brighton so unless there is any freak collapse, still a 9.8 -
So when a player is hurt by a foul due to no fault of his own, he is then penalised further and forced to stay off of the pitch? Aye that makes sense. If you fancy playing against 10 men for a bit, just lunge in and hurt someone.

After committing a rash challenge which he was booked for he picked up the ball, walked away with it, then shoved it into Gayle's stomach. Nor the referee or the linesman saw it, but the 4th official did. He could easily have been sent off for that alone as the force he did with could be classed as assault. Wasn't the second yellow for sarcastically applauding the referee? Edit - I must have missed whatever happened with Gayle, I just presumed it was for the above.

Ayozé Pérez (now playing for Villarreal)
Figures 1-0 Football replied to ponsaelius's topic in Football
Did a poo earlier that could probably knock Perez off of the ball. -
I wasn't just talking about tonight fwiw, was talking about him in general. He wasn't amazing today but he was certainly one of our more creative players and offers a hell of a lot more than Gouff does.

Really like Atsu, a player who is willing to get the ball and run at people. Plays a poor ball every now and again and he could improve his decision making but years of good coaching under Rafa could iron that out. Think he's a really good prospect.

Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press
Figures 1-0 Football replied to Kaizero's topic in Football
Literally never said either were key players you lunatic They were squad players... Just like those you are moaning about that we had. Delph was second choice CM for Man City last season? Or a squad player? Like Gamez, Murphy etc. Cant remember who Liverpool had upfront when Lambert was bought in but did they have Balotelli and Borini then? Was Lambert really second choice or bought in to compete for the bench alongside those players? As Murphy has been with us. Literally no point arguing this with the man who thinks Sissoko is class. -

Delph played the equivalent of 8.4 full games in the PL last season out of 38, such a key player. That's also ignoring the fact he only featured due to injuries to others. And Lambert played less than 9 full games in the season you rave about him being so key. Nearly all of his appearances were sub appearances. -

Football doesn't work like that. So its just impossible to buy midfielders then? What midfielders did we get linked to in the summer that we didn't get? That's not the point - your saying there is no point in having back up players in others positions because we didn't sign more central midfielders - it just doesn't work like that. In terms of CMs were linked with Lucas, Alex Pritchard, Marcos Llorente, Nabil Bentaleb, Will Hughes, Michael Carrick, Cheick N'Dpye - I am sure there were more. No, I'm saying that you have to sort out your first team and another 3-4 players before worrying about players who are barely going to feature. There's having a squad which I'm all for and then there's buying players in case 3 players in the same position get injured which is almost never going to happen. Most of the bigger clubs don't buy experienced players just in case half their squad gets food poisoning. None of those players were heavily linked at any stage, did we make a bid for any of those? I was wrong in my initial post to include Hanley in that as I had forgotten Mbemba was going to the ACON Aye right on Man City bought Fabian Delph to start every week like... Liverpool bought Lambert not long ago to play up front every game... Man City bought Delph because they needed an English player. He also featured 17 times last season in the league and has had bad injury troubles. Lambert featured 25 times for Liverpool in the league in his season there, neither comparable at all. That puts him in the same ballpark as the amount of minutes Mitrovic will play by the end of the season at his current rate. Featured 17 times Aye, in the cups when they've rested the entire team. How many minutes of PL football did Delph play? This season he has played 26 minutes. Lambert featured heavily due to injuries due to other key players, never ahead of others. Which is exactly how Gamez, Hanley & Murphy will be used for us. Those two players are two examples out of loads, if I wasn't in the car I'd pull a few others up but these are sufficient to prove your empty argument wrong. -

If one of Lascelles/Clark is injured/suspended then Mbemba moves into the team. Which CB do we then have on the bench? What happens if Mbemba then gets injured too? Who plays? What about when Mbemba leaves for a month soon? People moan that we have a lack of options at CM when Shelvey is out but then not grasp why we have options elsewhere -
Wonder if everyone in China was outraged with Abramovich bought Chelsea and paid daft money for players? Ironic that China are trying to improve their national team by buying in class players from abroad and all of the English newspapers and most pundits blame it for our national team failing.
