  1. Surely it's better to play to a system that is at the strength of your best players, rather than trying to shoehorn players into a system. A combination of Mitro and Gayle is a much better system than just Gayle in this league where it is extremely physical and full of defensive cloggers. The running of Gayle as a lone striker will be better suited to the PL where you have 'footballing defenders' who want to fanny about with it and pass it about and he can put them under pressure.
  2. Aye He doesn't say it at all like, basically just says we need to manage the game better when teams come up and defend for 90 minutes.
  3. Chance created is a pass made that leads to an attempt at goal.
  4. He's off to Villa apparently. I was just thinking this morning that they could do with a few more strikers.
  5. Is the referee not entitled to give a penalty if contact starts outside, but continues into, the box? - which it did imo although I've only really seen it once. The red was right though, the law is clear and if there is a foul during a goalscoring opportunity with no attempt to play the ball then it is a red.
  6. When have Swansea ever appointed anyone on the bookies list? I hope for your sake that you don't this time either! Swansea are a club I don't mind at all, would much rather you stay up than some of the other shit in that league.
  7. These are truly terrible, even when we played them away and the referee did everything in his power to give them victory, they still struggled to win. That was also during a period where they had hit a bit of form. Fully expect us to return to winning ways, would be shocked with anything other than a win.
  8. The list of names being put forward for the Swansea job May as well just relegate them now.
  9. Makes me laugh when I read on other forums, other club's supporters saying that the referees are shit and biased towards us. If they'd actually watched any of our matches, it's the complete opposite.
  10. A 5-page thread on RTG about how overrated Benitez is Good lord. Anyone would think that we're not in the automatic promotion spots and they're not in the relegation zone.
  11. Was the stone wall penalty when Gayle was hauled down in the box at a free kick? It looked a certain penalty at the time, I've not seen a replay of it though.
  12. The following tweets are class too. Looks like his girlfriend has lost it
  13. Better record than me. Hoping my gypsy course doesn't extend to Forest. What qualification does that get you mate?
  14. Then take Alsoran out of the team, not Ritchie. Ideally we'd have two wingers that we could bring in for both of them as they've both been poor, but we haven't because Aarons is made out of Lego.
  15. Disagree with it being a mentality issue. We set up to score a goal and hang on to it every single week, then when we don't get the first goal we have no idea what to do about it and end up defending a 1-0 defeat. We're the top scorers in the division for God's sake - hardly emblematic of a side who sets up to win 1-0 'every single week' is it? 11 of our 16 wins in the league have been by 1 or 2 goals. We've hardly set the league alight and put teams to the sword, especially considering there is such a huge gap in quality between us and them. There have been so many examples this season where we have scored and then quickly clearly retreated down the pitch and allowed the opposition to play football. The most successful teams win and win well. Chelsea have just won 3 games on the bounce 1-0 - are they a 'successful' enough side in your book? They've also won by a single goal 7 times in the PL so far this season out of 15 total wins but ah well, Conte should probably sacked for not 'putting teams to the sword' enough eh? Actually, 12 of our 16 wins have been by 1-2 goal margins but half of those have been by 2 goals rather than 1. Is a 2-0 win not convincing enough for you like? To put this into perspective, 10 of Brighton's 14 wins have been by 1 or 2 goals and 7 of those were by only 1 goal. Our last stint in this league was built on scrappy wins away at Sheffield United, Preston and the like, and that was with a squad that had mostly played with each other for at least a solid half season in the Premier League. We more or less have a completely new squad for this season and yet somehow it is unacceptable that we're not dishing out batterings every week in what is arguably a far more competitive division than it was back then. Chelsea might win 1-0, but they dont go a goal up against teams severely inferior to them and then sit back and hand them the initiative. They keep moving the ball quickly and putting the opposition under pressure. There have been countless games this season where we have scored and then seemingly sat back and done nowt. I'm probably overreacting to a defeat but I think we put ourselves under unnecessary pressure and our attacking play at 0-0 suffers because we are so used to just defending and hanging onto games.
  16. Said it once before, I don't think it's a quality issue with him now - I just dont think that he wants to be here.

  19. We set up to control games and not lose, then take winning as a bonus. Away from home that is fine at times, but at home it's just ridiculous when we have such a clear quality advantage over teams in this league. Can you imagine Man City playing our tactics at home against the likes of Watford, Stoke, WBA?
  20. This league is like having Tony Pulis in charge of every other club.
  21. Gets in a great position and then freezes, down to confidence but not sure how long we can carry him when Atsu looks so dangerous when he plays. His set piece delivery is usually spot on like.
