He needs to make a pointless overhead kick in the middle of the pitch before he can ever exceed Nicky Butt's greatness.

The only role he seems to be able to fill is as an impact sub as a wide forward. He doesn't have to win many physical battles when he plays against tired legs and heads where it can leave him a step or two ahead. It also gives him more space to do (for good and bad) more unpredictable things on the pitch.
