Ray Clarke, Billy Rafferty, Frank Pingel & Rob McDonald were different level shitness compared to Joselu. Then you've got some of the nowhere near good enough yound lads that didn't make the grade....Paul Brayson, Anth Lormor and Steve Howey etc, although he made an excellent defender eventually. Modern days I'd say de Jong, Riviere and Ranger were all far inferior to the Hoss. Honorable mentions to Kuqi, Smith and Andreas Andersson.

Who’s clueless? Quite a lot of our fans. They turn up pissed, constantly looking at their phones/checking their bets, boo players with little or no understanding of the game. Worse still, their online equivalents, who've literally never been to a game in their life. You must have seen them?

I just love it when certain players (or indeed the manager) make some of our 'fans' look like the absolutely clueless knackers they are. Beautiful.

Charnley's weapons-grade horseshit about the training ground, is an obvious and public rebuttal of Rafa's demands, almost certainly because he's too cowardly to say it to his face. I wanted Ipswich to win the UEFA Cup in 82, but apart from that, always want the non English team to win. Was in a bar in Sydney when Liverpool won the CL in Istanbul, and the place was going crackers with non LFC English fans jumping around, I remember being the only fan who was absolutely gutted. It's amazing how they rewrite history about their sewpa hard fans, as I went to a few games at Roker in the 80's/early 90's when football hooliganism was in it's pomp, and our lot wandered around with impunity and absolutely took the piss....they were literally nowhere to be seen. Sunderland was a stroll in the park compared to most grounds back then (especially Boro) but reading their threads on RTG, and it's about how they smashed everybody and anybody there. :lol:
