imo worthless opinion it's purely down to their history of sustained success, they know what the club has been and won't accept it being any less (or trying to be any less) all we've got is support the team not the regime because we've never known anything but that being our reason for existence Wasn't the case in the late 80s and early 90s. Though the only thing I've been able to distil stuff from about that period is the old documentaries that the BBC have done which are on YouTube. Even though I don't rate him, I probably agree with you. Would genuinely love to know why people don’t rate him. Young forward, superb in the air, bangs in goals in every team he’s played for. What’s not to like? Maybe missing a bit of tactical discipline? In a young lad, surely that can be taught? Because we've rarely seen this kind of form/finishing from him in a black and white shirt, people seem to forget how poor he was for us in the Chamionship. That said, would definitely like to see him given another chance here, as let's face it, we'll not be spending £20m plus on a striker anytime soon.

I've been to a fair few games in Russia (including a couple of Zenit games with igorstp who used to post on here) and the OMOH who police all the games are simply not to be fucked with. I once spent 20 minutes in the back of one of their big six wheeler trucks, and it was easily one of the most terrifying experiences if my life. I suspect there'll be little or no bother.

And Some Girls by Racey. I reckon they only had three records. Apparently it was a ploy by Seymour & the board to play that sort of music to try and keep the crowd calm in the Gallowgate.

It had loads of standout incidents and England really should have won it, but apparently it was the lowest scoring WC ever......and the final was an absolute shocker. Spain 82 for me personally.
