Not that I think Wickhams a good signing mind.

Aren't they extremely healthy financially? Sure I saw that somewhere but I could be wrong. edit* 5th most profit in the league in 13/14.

No such thing as a perfect forum. Pretty close though. It always just falls at the punultimate hurdle

If Wickham completely flops Pardew suffers, if he becomes a goalscoring machine the mackems will be furious. Win-win. The fee's not too bad but I'm surprised anyone's in for him on those wages.
-
He's a 21 year old CB and this is only preseason tbf. Doesn't look great from the small amount of him I've seen though I will admit.
-
Think a loan for Adebayor isn't that laughable really. If he gives his usual good 6 months at a new club it'll have been worth it for them. Was great for Sherwood at Spurs. Buying him outright would be daft obviously.

  No other factors involved like

If you can't remember spectacular goals, I'm not going to expect you to remember very good controlling-the-midfield performances, a week or a decade ago.

Google them vs Roma 2007, Captain Alzheimer's.

Loved that 2011 run where Carrick was carried by Gibson, Park, Fletcher, Anderson and an elderly Giggs and Scholes to a PL title and CL final. But tbf that was 4 years ago and midfield's not that important in CL and that. Also that bit where he passed the ball about well and got that Manchester team playing well, being widely regarded as a big part in their upturn in form, but that was a few months ago tbf. Wouldn't want someone like that being decent for a season. Especially cause Geremi was pants.
-
Aye, shite midfield, getting to the CL final and getting beat by one of the best teams in history and that Not that that midfield played every game like He's not the long term answer, but we need someone who can control games and for a least a year if he's injury free he's capable of that. There's zero logical relevance to how a transfer 11 years ago for a different player worked out to how this one would work out.
-
Are you kidding? If it was for a tiny fee, two years of Carrick would be ace. Just wrap him in bubblewrap+placenta+unicorn tears and we have a midfield 3 of Carrick, Wij/Sissoko, De Jong/Perez/Cabella. Not all ex-Man Utd players are bad and not all old signings are past it.

Ibra will be 36 by then anyway. Hope he smashes the next Euros mind. -

Would love to see Wales make it -
He'd be decent breaking in their counter attacking style games but not for much else, can't see it.

You have a great sense of humour.

TCD clearing house on these punks!

And effectively it seems!

Fairly sure he's just winding you up

I don't think we'll sell him unless we get good money so I reckon he will still be here. Suspect the same, who the hell will pay double figures for him? We'll probably get double what we'd get now with proper coaching and him playing central. I am worried Mclaren sees him on the right though. There only 3 central spots though, and going off others opinions it doesn't sound like Sissoko-Wij would work as a 2, and Wij I assume is a guaranteed starter. So you either drop De Jong or Sissoko, or play Sissoko out right which isn't ideal, but I wouldn't say it'd be a travesty of Shola up front Cisse on the wing proportions. Can't see Sissoko reacting well to being dropped to the bench in a Euro's year either. Making more and more sense to sell and reinvest in a proper right winger if we can get a good price. Just a shame De Jong's injury record is so pants.
-
I like his confidence (based on that celebration) and his physique, don't think he'll be intimidated or bullied by some of the bruising CBs in the league. He'll probably be the one doing the bruising if anything.
-
I'd worry about 2 new CBs, however good they might be once adjusted, starting together fresh to the league. And I don't fancy either Taylor or Willo helping them out too much. Would be happier to keep Colo for a year to help show them the ropes to begin with. Can't really see it happening anyway.

Glad we're finally seeming to be aiming to develop a decent playing style. Probably won't happen perfectly overnight though so I hope there's a bit of patience from the staff and fans if it doesn't immediately click and results aren't great to start with.
