    Steve McClaren

I have never liked him. He has the presence of dropped food on the floor that clearly nobody wants and whoever picks it up is going to get looks of disgust from everyone else in the room. Felt like that since he was at man u and everything afterwards. When he was touted here I remember it being ryder who was heralding him coming and piping him off like he was a great acquisition. I was furious about it because after the shiteshow that was paedew and the spineless lip licker we had the chance to move on and do something different and actually better ourselves, not just marginally but make real steps. Instead we get graham carr's wet mouldy lettuce mate turning us down until Derby sacked him so he could get his coin and then join us. Inept dreary prick with no morals. I don't have the hate I do for pardew and carver, but he's still an embarrassing stain on the list of managers our club has had. Thankfully though, it led to Rafa.
  3. Jeremy Goss. Norwich v Bayern Munich in 1993.
  4. Agree completely with those who want him gone. I'd not "happily accept him if..." Eff that, what's to stop him.coming back and doing something like making Adam effing Johnson the director of football somewhere down the line just to eff with us? And you just KNOW he is capable of such horrific awfulness. I'm no longer willing to think events like Wise, kinnear, that creepy llambias effer, stadium renaming etc were just "bad advice" or "poor judgment". I want to feel we are going somewhere positive without the threat of a giant crybaby coming in and appointing another alan effing paedew out of nothing but spite.
  5. It seems that everyone (bar the folks who he comes to and ruins) thinks he's a great manager so I want Arsenal to hire pardew. Then they can all see how great he actually is. And it can be a super double present for Ian Wright, having watched him take Palace to greatness and no doubt having his greatness rub off on his precious Arsenal. I have no beef with the North Londoners, but I think this needs to happen for the pundits to finally admit loudly and publically how dismally shi-te he actually is. *Apologies for marring the Rafa thread with this luke warm vomit sucker's name.
  6. So I start this glorious Wrestlemania morning with both amusement and hope. A positively delightful start to my day. This place is just wonderful!

I haven't heard about anything recently, however IIRC way back in the 1800s a businessman named Ambrose Crowley started a metalworks in sunderland. It obviously took advantage of the local labour on hand, augmented by the expertise of some of his Belgian workforce. Now, as I remember the story the mackems were so awful to work with that he moved his works to Winlaton, where the locals were extremely accommodating. He even had a pub named after him until recently, albeit in Swalwell. I think it's now called The Poacher's Pocket or something. Obviously this wasn't a shadowy cabal as he was quite open about it but I wonder if this adds to their bitterness that's been handed down through the ages.

Followed one of the links posted to their board. Ended up down a rabbithole of blinkered bitterness and bile that seems unbelievable until you read it in pretty much every thread. The things that really irritate me on that board though: 1) the shit Newcastle fans who go on there who aren't as clever as Sima and make us seem dumber than the mackem posters on there. I include the simpering "in peace" type fans. Not all NUFC posters there are shit, but I can't remember who is good and who makes us look like geriatrics at a rave. 2) mackems from the wrong place. Sorry like, but if you're from gosforth then how bullied must you have been to pretend to support Sunderland? You know that Grima Wormtongue from LOTR? That's who I feel they pretty much are. *unless the 'fan' in question is a deep undercover wum, then see point 1. 3) the random number of threads on the SAME EFFING SUBJECT. But this did allow for hilarity when within a day the cattermole threads were so contradictory after a win. 4) that many of them make the same joke, sometimes a funny one, as has already been made, sometimes within a few posts of the earlier versions. You know how we have Giggs? They could use some Giggs and not just as kewkie's new assistant. 5) the constant backslapping "our fans" thread. 6) I've touched on the bitterness but ffs, it is so over the top it needs mentioning again. I think they use it to hide their obsession with us and its twisted them over time. Every time I hear the "6 in a row" schtick, all I hear is "my precious". They carry on like they're the EDL of the region and we are some sort of ethnicity that they grew up having the fact we should be hated beaten into them by some alcoholic, abusive occasional step parent. 7) the adam johnson acceptance "cos he scored against the mags". Disgusting. I am not generalizing all the Sunderland fans, just that board. They are just awful. This board in the main contains sensible, intelligent folk who you can ask questions and are very welcoming and funny. I'm not so daft to think we don't have a recessive element in the fan base either so with that in mind, where is their equivalent to this board? *quick edit for clarification; I'm asking if the mackems have a sensible board.
  9. But no, that won't be enough. We are currently in an era where being a useless sack of sh1t who is entirely incompetent is lapped up by the masses! I have no idea why, but sour jizz cauldrons like paedew, trump, even effing boris and rhys mogg are revered as not just acceptable but the future. Makes me sick.
  10. Exactly this. It would be funny if it wasn't so transparent and cowardly. I still feel sick every time I remember that this rotten excuse for a dirty scrotbasket actually managed us for any length of time. If I could jettison anyone into the sun, my list hasn't changed in several years: him, ashley, trump and james cordon. I'd want it to take a long time too so they'd be stuck with each other's company for the entire time too. How anyone, even his weirdo fanboy football and media mates, can defend him is beyond me. I hope that players who have worked with this amalgamated collection of rancid ungulate ordure finally come out and say how utterly awful he is. Maybe that way fools like redknapp, merson et al will finally shut the eff up. tl;dr? I effing hate pardew.
  11. I hope they don't replace him. Here is why; 1) There are no guarantees that a change will help them stay up. 2) They would have to pay the charlatan off. 3) If they are relegated then make sure this cretin has a well deserved relegation on his CV (well aimed spite rather than business reasons). 4) It would be good for the game if this fool is exposed for what he is.
  12. They haven't fully figured him out yet. "Pardew is just a bad manager, not a bad man". Sorry like, but if they haven't worked out what an absolute scumbag this cretin is then they deserve all they get.

How ridiculously sad is that thread? "I saw some mags in a shop", "yeah, they're a strange bunch". What in the actual F U Curly Kicky is that all about?
  14. Yep. Wanted it all sorted by the 20th remember? And since Ashley canned the takeover weeks ago, they have had every opportunity to actually work on transfers.

    Kenedy

Well, he IS named after Robert F.Kennedy, according to Wikipedia. Then he could at least spell his name right. Pet hate for me already. One 'N' indeed
  16. I had a feeling a couple of weeks ago that this deal had died, but in hindsight I am kind of glad it wasn't sold to this set of bidders. I don't know why, I just had a feeling of deep disappointment when I saw who it was (based on nothing but gut feelings and nothing else). Ah well, I guess it just means we missed out here so we could finally find our perfect owners.
  17. Nothing before Christmas, nothing before January, nothing before February. It doesn't take the best analyst in the world to notice a pattern here. My excitement over a potential brilliant new start to a new era has gone and been replaced by complete cynicism. If I keep the small bit of faith left in me that the PCP interest is real, they will eventually tire of ashley's bullshit and go elsewhere. He will eventually say he is selling again (around transfer window times I dont doubt) and who in their right mind will deal with this vomit licking gusset stain of an owner? He's already messed around the (now) man city owners and if he messes up with PCP then no one will come near him to buy the club for a very long time. And as for the fans doing something about it? It won't happen. Too many are so ingrained that they will suffer through whatever with no light at the end of the tunnel, even though their staying away would be good for the long term future of the club. A few hundred may not turn up for a while but that's it. It's a thing I've noticed for a good long while now that no one at the top feels accountability anymore. At one time a politician doing something wrong would resign. A company doing something horrid in their business practices would be roundly turned on, compensation would be given to customers. A newspaper editor who had hacked a dead child's phone messages would be shunned and not given lucrative TV work constantly. Now it's a case of those in any sort of power don't care as there are no repurcussions. They just sit there and ride it out, knowing that as long as they have thick skin then there is nothing the public is able or willing to do to force them to do anything. As for this takeover though, if the sound logic of other posters is to be believed then the price would have been more or less agreed upon in the very early stages and yet it's the price haggling that is being reported back on. That doesnt seem right to me. I've seen comments saying that people think 50 million is not a small figure and yet it's discussed as if it's nothing at all. But then I also read comments that 25 million is nothing for a player in this day and age. I am paraphrasing of course and I don't think for a second it was the same person saying both things, but both are somewhat contradictory for either a greedy selling owner or a potentially ambitious new owner. Anyway, I realise I'm rambling but I'm just so bored, frustrated and now highly skeptical of the entire fiasco.

I see (hear?) that the mackem lad who took a dump on his seat was mentioned on The News Quiz this week.
  19. Yet another week goes by with little to no news. I'm really trying to remain positive but I'm losing faith rapidly. Part of me is following the logic that there is no way that PCP and Stavely would waste their time on a fake bid to allow Ashley to not spend this window. All of me longs for us to have new ownership. Part of me wonders if the takeover is happening but its not so Ashley doesn't have to spend, but Stavely. I don't want to think anything but positively about this, but the lack of urgency in this transfer window when we face possible relegation is deeply troubling. I don't *really* think this, but you know when a nagging doubt pulls at your mind strings? Over thinking stuff is making it worse. Piss poor jokes and fake announcements aside, its pretty much this board that's getting me through it so thank you all.
  20. What the hell is a Dacia Duster. Sounds like some sort of hoover. Some cheap ass car. Loan signing incoming Nah, it'll be the car to take Colback away. That would be a bin wagon.
  21. Comes into the thread hoping all these new pages means some important news. Sees pages of avatar changes and conversations about fantasy racoons. Thinks should be disappointed, but instead starts laughing. Thanks for the cheering up folks, was needed
  22. Also behind Rafa 100%. We have a genuine football manager, and a great one at that, at the club for the first time in what seems like forever. I hate all this stuff about questioning him, we are working with a squad that's barely adequate for the championship and yet he managed to get us up with them. He will have had a list of players, we all accept that, and it will have had a list of other choices if those could not be gotten. Thing is, he's been given very little to work with. Never mind <falsetto voice> "but they're his players", how far down the list are the players he got? How many were meant as long term prospects and not expected to have the weight of an entire campaign thrust upon them? Imagine if The Duke of Wellington was sent to conquer Napoleon's armies, all of whom had cannon and horse whilst he had been provided with a gang of small kids waving blunt sticks. Just because you have a great general, it doesnt mean he can work miracles if you don't provide him with a decent calibre of troops. This is why I can't be doing with the short sighted criticims I read. Like it would make the world of difference which barely adequate keeper we play. There is only so much anyone could do by switching poor player for poor player. I love this forum and really enjoy the discourse on here by some really intelligent and helpful posters, but I would like those who criticise Rafa based only on what is in front of them now to really remember who we had as "managers" before. It makes me shudder with disgust when I think of those inept smeg harvesters who sucked up to ashley and left fans feeling underwhelmed with their dire management, yet it was Rafa who made me beleive in this club again. Think back to those times, then think forward to what we could be again and I think that our best chance of that better future is having Rafa at our helm.
  23. I'd be interested to know that too. I've heard of it with regards to thinking and the way your brain can make decisions but not in takeover stuff. It sounds like it could be the handover process maybe? Where the new owner has come in and there is that period of time where the previous owner stays along side to keep things steady. Just guessing though.
