    Image of the week

Any ideas why I can only see some pics (I can see Reefa's no problem) but pretty much all the others are just a black X in the top right corner?
  2. Remember when Keegan moved Howey from up front to centre mid before he became a bloody good centre half? Reckon it might be worth a try moving Mitro into another position?
  3. Curious, disappointed and pleased. In that order* *as for Gayle, I'd rather he recovered rather that play him when not fi . Mbemba only came back midweek, so i'd assume its just jetlag/not having trained with the team this week. He got knocked out of the African Nations only a day after Diame, who was involved on Wednesday, mind Which is why I get this cynical view.

I agree, although the cynic in me always wonders when players who haven't played a part so far are "unavailable", even after tournaments.
  5. I look forward to the tiote circle of life again this window. Move away touted, never materialises, manager "glad he's staying", never plays.

    Lee Charnley

You'd think he'd be furious with Carr after the cash wasted on the likes of Cabella, Thauvin, Saivet, DeJong, Colback etc. Yep and it baffles the f*** out of me why he isn't. Colback was a Pardew special, Obertan, Colback and Blob, what a guy Pardew is at picking players I was always concerned about this, especially thauvin. He didn't want to come, he was in the French Shite list the previous season and we threw millions at him. McLaren is another one. He was carrs mate and from what I remember Ryder was jizzing himself when he was reporting it. A couple of lucky spots in players that were always going to have a higher sell on value and his ability has never been called into question. But then, ashley doesn't seem to hold anyone to account for being shite.
  8. This is pretty much how I feel, but with an underlying dread because of the ashley rumours that came about way before the window closed.
  9. Do you know of, "rush keeper", "5 pots in" and "maker taker" ? Asking mates about these and whilst we know "rush keeper", we are guessing that "maker taker" refers to an instance that if you make the penalty you take it and the best thing we can come up with for "5 pots in" means if you either score 5 goals as an outfield player, you go in goal or if as a keeper you let 5 in then someone else takes a turn in goal. Are we close?
  10. I'm pretty sure I remember the press speculation about man u and Chelsea looking at him. Could just have been twatspew whoring players about in the press at the time though.

    Modou Barrow

Aye, looks like the replacement in is the reason from what ive now read elsewhere.

yeah, what's not straightforward? Put in bid, bid accepted, terms negotiated, player accepts or they decline. I take it ryder doesn't elaborate?
  13. I'd be happy with this. But I'd rather it was "by the end of today" as I'm getting sick of waiting

    Andros Townsend

The useless mcclaren was in charge then, but how much of that 80 mil was down to him? We may never know but it looked like those deals were already in place/being pursued before he took the <whiny voice> "head coach" role. It looked like it was the Carr/Charnley combination of spunking money against the wall against people who clearly didn't want to come (eg thauvin). I think Andros would be good for us though. He was decent in the premier league last season for us (under Rafa) and i'd like to have some excitement on the wings rather than having "Alright Backup I Suppose" Gouffran play.
  15. This occurred to me when he was sacked by Palace and quite frankly terrifies me. I don't want to inflict him on any club (bar the obvious exceptions), but I kinda hope someone somewhere hires him so we don't have to worry about the smarmy arserag dirtying our club again. Either that or he gets TwentySixteened.
  16. /cringe Not sure how this is "cringe". I've just googled Watford FC and it's true - there are NO MARKS in the squad. Closest is rene GilMARtin, Adrian MARiappa, Honourable mentions to Nordin AMRAbat and Valon BenRAMi for trying.
  17. Hasn't this been the format for the last few transfer windows with Tiote? Move away touted, never materialises, manager "glad he's staying", never plays. Repeat each window.
  18. This is my new favourite thing
  19. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f207/INCspot/cyrano-de-bergerac_08-c-benoit-barbier.jpg LOL! Thought the exact same thing when I sped-read it.
  20. No axe to grind with Palace, but suffered enough? You only had two years of him. We had five, then got lumbered with that oaf carver and then nearly a season of steve effing mcclaren. You have no idea what suffering is!
  21. It's building... Give us a clue mate, some of us can't get into the site.

    Steve McClaren

I don't see the "nice guy" thing at all. He could have decided to come earlier but he wanted money from derby if they sacked him. He knew that he was coming in to be a patsy and still took the job. I never rated him personally and although I didn't hate him when he was safely at clubs that weren't ours but he came across as the epitome of disappointment. He knew he was out of his depth after a few months here but hung on so he could get compensation for being shite. Yes yes, would any of us do any different blah blah blah but it just highlights further his lack of honour. Everything was magnificent according to this clown, he grinned like a fool after heavy defeats and showed his lack of bottle to demand real reinforcements that we needed instead of accepting the six trillion attacking midfielders and playing them out of position. He claimed that he was somewhat of a Newcastle fan and wanted to manage us. But hung on to the point that even when a real manager took over we could not avoid relegation. He's not pardew levels of odious but he ranks above even allerdyce in my all time disliked managers of NUFC. Also, he looks and sounds like he smells of damp carpets that a tramp has weed on.
