I always thought her serious. She even went public with her more than fair offers after ashley said she was wasting his time. Its this one I don't feel is real.

I'm just annoyed more than anything. Annoyed at the obvious ploy, annoyed at the bare faced cheek of the lies about a takeover, annoyed at the lack of progress, annoyed at the lack of updates, annoyed at the fake timescales given out for these fake updates and most of all I'm annoyed with myself for actually checking back to see is there are any updates. Current feeling:

I think a big thing for me is when captain fortnite said mike ashley was a nice guy. For me, that's the difference.

Not falling for it. I have no doubts about what N-O folk or black cloud has been told, but I still don't believe its happening. In the next 7 days? Uh huh. Its just dragging out and making me more apathetic by the day. If they'd said something like "big announcement on Monday" then I might change my mind but the 7 days will roll around and there will be nothing but a tiny scrap of news about delays or further talks or some other bs just to drag people's hope out for longer. I don't understand this "it feels more real than the stavely affair" thing either. At first, that felt very real. I still think it was ashley at fault for that falling through. At first this takeover felt real too, but now it feels weaker than last years takeover talk. Just my feeling, hope I'm wrong.

I was just thinking this last night. For me the damage done is irrepairable and I don't think I'll be able to see the day where I'll be comfortable sitting amongst that set of fans again. They weren't prepared to fight for their club. They turned on the manager earlier in the season and they frequently turn against certain players but won't say anything against Ashley or Charnley. They won't walk in 11 minutes into a match because they "want to support the team" yet they'll storm out in a huff after 75 minutes because the team is getting beat. Obviously I'm not talking about the entire support, but a very large majority and they are people I dont have any desire to spend my spare time or mix with. This is the thing. I don't feel we can say we have a fantastic fanbase anymore because of the apathy from what appears to be a vast majority of white-feather fans not even entertaining those who are trying to save what they purportedly love. It feels like it's a microcosm of the state of the world at the moment which is even more depressing. Excluding those who engage with, or even just support, those trying to actually effect change for the better are a huge problem across humanity and it really brings it home when it's your own fellow fans.

Totally agree. Nothing of substance in those and as Keith Downie pointed out on his tweet (well, a reply to a question on one of his tweets), he only does it to get the interactions.

Just checked out the #mikeashley tag on Twitter. How the fuck are people so stupid as to believe this bloke and think he is someone who "cares"? Apologies for folks waking up to this thread hoping for takeover news and only seeing this. I'm sorry, I'm just really frustrated.

What would you expect him to say though? I can't predict that. We might get a good indicator of how things are though with specific questions like that rather than the presenters obvious "how are you?","is everything OK now after your meat feast pizza with mike?".

Is he live and available to answer questions or just some pre taped interview? If its live, perhaps people could call/text in asking his opinion on how we get rid of ashley.

The facts remain the same; - a bang average team overachieved last season in a herculean effort getting to 10th - that team wasn't properly invested in during the summer by ashley , thus demoralizing that team and the fans - a stupidly skewed set of opening fixtures - a world class manager with pretty much bang average players, but now with very little to motivate them with. Last season it was clearly "let's kick on and in the summer we can regroup and invest which will improve us all" whereas now it's what exactly? "Work yourselves into the ground without question with no light at thr end if the tunnel? How can anyone motivate in that scenario? - short sighted people who claim "it's Rafa's team" or "he bought them", totally losing sight of the restraints on him and why he had to go for those players - more lies from the regime, including fake takeover talks and minutes not agreed by anyone in attendance - a puzzling fan base where a vast amount don't understand short term pain (missing a match) for long term gain in order to shift the creepy fat owner Maybe our new motto should just be "Interdictum est spe". But I digress, the bottom line is Rafa should not and can not be blamed.
