Didn't Everton offer something like £8 million at first? They really don't understand the art of haggling.

Aye, just seen the Pickford story. BBC link for anyone who wants it http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40258852

I have a question regarding this that you guys will probably know. I say question, it's more of a thought at the back of my mind that is just vaguely there but keeps nagging at me. If a club is getting taken over, is there some sort of transfer embargo in place until it's completed?
-
When transfer targets wait until the very last moment to sign. Not talking about last minute signings, but protracted stalling until the end of the window when matches have been played. The player dragging their feet do themselves and the team no favours by not having a chance to bed in. Also questions their actual desire to sign. My best example to hand is michael owen.

Found him fast asleep at Gate 13, clearly having used Gate 12 as his en suite. Brilliant

That Harper Corbyn one man

If Alan Pardew ever made a cheese, thats the name right there Alan Paedew is nothing but cheese. Mouldy, foul smelling, fake plasticy cheese that no-one likes, yet always appears in places you'd rather it didn't.
-
Seems odd to play him when we have had fit centre backs who could take his place though.

"There's an impending Nuclear holocaust. Do you: A) Attempt to save your loved ones? B) Bring on another left back?" Outstanding!

If, and I hope its really not true, they brought sissoko back, where would you play him?

Newcastle United lose Judicial Review against HMRC
Stal replied to ChrisMcQuillan's topic in Football
Just had a quick mooch around the internet and Charnley is the only one I see named as arrested. Could be west ham have had people arrested too, nothing to say one way or the other on the reports I read. Also, maybe the authorities dont know who to arrest. Type in "west ham CEO" and I get Karen Brady, Angus someone or other and someone else entirely on the club website. *yes, I know their main person would be listed on companies house, I was just making light -

This is great news! If Liam was a VIP at the FA. I'm going to do your trick and live in blissful delusion until told otherwise -

I hope that's all it is, but I can't understand why Charnley would be arrested? No West Ham official has been arrested as far as I'm aware? As I've said it is possibly because his name has been on official documents, West Ham may just have put the clubs name down, or Charnley may just be a recurring name. We have done more deals with OM than Weat Ham have, so Charnley will be in the firing line more. The ceo is the person responsible for the business so its them they would arrest. Simple as that really. Have I just giggsed myself? So why hasn't Karren Brady been arrested? You'd have to ask the authorities. Depends on the seriousness of the allegations? *and in answering that I may have just understood where that question was coming from; what's charnley done that Brady hasn't? That I don't know * -

And gets a cell with a randy pervert. Purple aki with a years supply of viagra and pumping him full of roids every day wouldn't be bad enough for that odious cretin that's a very North Western reference. Or is he well known all over? -

I hope it's personal but if a business, in this case the club, is suspected of wrongdoing then it would be the CEO who would be the person that would be arrested. As the figurehead and the person who is responsible for whatever happens in departments that sit under him. -

That was an investigation over transfers though, wasn't it? That hasn't been confirmed here yet. Or has it? -

I reckon folk will have been paying a lot of attention to Ashley for a while and I can imagine the authorities have been going through his finances with a fine tooth comb for some time in an effort to bring him down. -

I will be seriously effed off about this if there are repercussions on the club at this point in time. If the police wanted to raid and upset the status quo then they could have bloody done it during the pardew or mcclaren eras! -

Very unlikely. This isn't as bad as it's made out imo. Good. I'm clinging to this life raft. Cheers Neesy. -

No, they've raided NUFC since they did it at SJP. I was hoping that was just because it's his place of work. Pointless going to his house if he's not there kind of thing. There's that hopeful thing again. -

If it's just personal to him though, ie he's defrauded his own finances and not the club's, then surely that's just his issue and shouldn't affect the club? More a hopeful question than a statement. If that *is* the case then maybe we can dream of a CEO who we have faith in. -

Sheff wed for me too. Always had a soft spot for the Sheffield sides, Wednesday in particular. I think because of their double cup losing season to arsenal.
