centre half's header. I was thinking at the time "nod it down"
-
Yep, I noticed that too. Felt so much more relaxed which allowed the players to show what they can do.

South Shields is mainly a mackem area and further up the tyne you go the less mackem supporters you find, so you do get some in Jarrow. I haven't lived there for 20 years but shields used to be quite even - don't forget Sunderland is closer and just about easier to get to. I think football has changed over the last few decades but it was almost always an inherited thing when I was a kid rather than what I think is a more free choice nowadays. My dad did used to go and watch both clubs but was defined by who he wanted to see win the derbies which means I'm black and white. When I started going to away games regularly at the start of the 80s, people from the town or North of the river did used to mock us gently for where we came from but I always felt more at home with tynesiders due to a similar accent rather than with Mackems. You have to change on the metro if you go to sunderland. Newcastle is straight through. It's still about 50/50 from what I can tell when I drink there.

Anyone else notice that the poll results are giving a massive middle finger?

You're very naive then. He's from Huddersfield. Not sure whether or not he supports them (He's not allowed to referee them) but he'll have many friends and family members who are Huddersfield fans if nowt else and it's a huge game for them as well. It's an unnecessary appointment which puts the referee in an awkward position. Is the chosen referee allowed to decline a match for whatever reason?

No, I did too. But sometimes on here you never know

More likely attitudes have changed rightly to such sexist stuff. You are saying that attitudes have rightly changed so he shouldn't have to add in the "even if you are a woman part", as that's the sexist part? If I felt it was sexist I'd be condemning it. It sounds like he's made a ham fisted attempt at a pretend jokey threat, realised it's about a lass and got really clumsy with it. Maybe because he didn't want to offend. EDIT: I haven't heard anything on that twitter vid than the "slap" comment. Is there more to this? I could be entirely wrong in my opinion if there is.
-
Sometimes people are desperate to have something they must feel offended about. It's a symptom of the current age. That video is something out of nothing. Ham fisted and badly delivered line that was meant to be light hearted.

Anyway, this site is about FOOTBALL - not politics.

Don't make me Google "Stormzy". Who is he/what does he do?

I really don't like Fleetwood. I've had to travel to both there and Blackpool for work and I much prefer Blackpool (except for the cost of parking). Its mainly because to get to Fleetwood there is this road that goes on for effing ever to get to it. Amalgenous Way or something. It can be soul destroying. A couple of decent chippys though.

I remember that manu said they'd retire Mark Hughes' number 10 shirt. Pretty sure that didn't last long. Maybe it was a wrestling retirement for the number? Also, doesn't one of the Bristol clubs not allow the number 12 shirt to be worn as its meant to be for the fans as theyre like their 12th man or something?

Annnnnddddd now so does mine. Thanks for that.

Totally agree with this one. The reporter should follow that up with the question "who is that sort of player?"
-
Is it spirit of 69?
-
That's about as likely to happen as us winning the league is. Or as likely as us winning the league with Elliot in goal as 1st choice. Is that a paradox?
-
I don't like him, never have. But I'd still play him in centre midfield ahead of colback.
-
Same way me wandering round Asda makes me look like a supermodel on my way to a photoshoot.
-
Yeah, I do have to wonder about the colback decisions. Surely he can see how shoit he is?
-
Could it be lack of personnel or even lack of trust in personnel?
-
Just a weird thought, but do you think Ashley might invest like he has at Rangers? I just thought it's the sort of thing he'd do.
-
I'm the same, unless it's definitely not a lee ryder piece.
-
What about loaning him out next season? See if he can sort himself out.
-
He should do. But if you hire s h I t e then when it is totally apparent that theyre s h I t e then you should walk too. Should happen in more businesses.
