Red?

There's a massive chance for us to sneak into the European spots with a couple of signings this season, like. I fancy us against anyone at home.
-
Harrison has been quality.
-
Wolves could play all week and not score.
-
Spurs should match them up with 4 in defence and get Richarlison on.
-
Man United's spending is a prime example of exactly why I'd have no problem with us spending as much as we possibly can further down the line. The idea that we could 'buy' the title is nonsense when you consider the money being thrown about by a team trying to finish in the top 6 never mind challenge for the league.
-
The previous season he was yeah. Didn't he start last season really below par? Villa fans always seem to quote a Watford game funnily enough in which he apparently got destroyed by Sarr all game and looked shaky defensively for a while after that. Either way getting the option to buy in was great work as no doubt they'd not have sold him for the same price this summer after that loan period.
-
If everyone is overpaying does that not just make it the going rate though? Pope had one year on his contract and he wanted to stay in the league after Burnley got relegated. Trippier wanted to move to the North of England and Atleti/Simeone agreed to sell him at a good price to allow him to do that. Targett we were able to agree to a low fee because he was horribly out of form and didn't fit in with their style of play going forward under Gerrard and he didn't want to sit in the bench. Bruno we got for a great fee as Lyon had a load of financial problems with covid and dropping out the champions League spots. All great business but the attackers we seem to be targeting don't fall into the same sort of scenarios where we can take advantage and get them at a 'fair' price. If you want a clubs best winger or striker you have to make it worthwhile them even considering selling.
-
They did fail to bring in a good striker for the last few years despite desperately needing one, mind..
-
The £40m was what we have right now to spend wasn't it? For example João Pedro at £25m would eat into that less than say Cornet at 17m who'd have needed all the money upfront. We could still easily sign another two players for around £25m within the £40m 'budget'?
-
Bruno would have been perfect for them. Really like Casemiro but this screams 'who's a well known CDM we can throw loads of money at?'.
-
To be fair our fans thought Longstaff was a £50m player and Lascelles should be starting for England. £25m is more than fair enough for someone who's never really done much at PL level.

State of Redknapp man. Absolutely fuming at the though that Rodri is a better passer than Phillips Loves Grealish because he 'gets on it all over summer' as well. https://youtu.be/mDl9nzr_03g

You have to at least make the selling clubs have a decision to make. Offering way below the asking price or going rate then walking away just makes us look a bit amateurish more than anything.

I'm not sure if anyone is defending the Glazers or claiming they are good owners? They aren't intentionally making them non competitive like Ashley was with us though. Don't they have the highest net spend in Europe since Fergie left? Neville said on the weekend they've spent over 1bn and we're getting slapped about by a squad that cost £55m but the players are 'trying their best' they just need to sign more players to help them. I don't know who's making all the decisions at the club but that seems to be a much bigger issue then the financial side of things in terms of their on the pitch problems. There just doesn't seem to be any sort of real plan or strategy to what they do. Think Conte would have sorted them out.
-
Even when Rabiot is not acting the prick he's just not good enough to fix their midfield problems.
-
TCD makes valid points a lot of the time and people twist his arguements or just come in and give him abuse
-
Zaha is miles ahead of any of our attacking players to be fair.
-
Is this the season Liverpool are 'off cycle'?
-
People were posting Wood videos in January that made him look lethal as well to be fair He's probably a decent backup striker, not convinced he's a good option out wide though at this level. Think Cornet would have been a better buy at 17m.
-
PHaving so many of the midtable and even lower sides try and play good football and press high is great for the league, like. Getting rid of the likes of Bruce, Pardew, Hodgson, Dyche etc out of the league the last few seasons kind of feels like an end of an era for that style of play now.
-
Sancho has been impressively shite since going to Man United like, looks less of a threat than Almiron most games.
-
Maxi actually looks worse trying to pass more. There's been a couple of occasions where he's tried a cut back to the edge of the box where he probably could have just drove at them like he usually would.
-
Don't think TCD has said much wrong.
-
Forest had a load of debutants and we are a very good side at home who got into them right from the start and didn't give them a chance to settle in the game. Our pressing was brilliant. Think it's abit daft to write them off based on that performance alone, people are already tipping them for a record low points finish. Quite like how much they are giving it a go rather than doing a Norwich.
