Strongly disagree but there's no point arguing the toss. Schar made several big mistakes last year.

100% this. Schar makes just as much if not more mistakes than Burn.
  3. Completely agree. I just think that sadly Bruno's trajectory is steeper than ours (not our fault, he's just clearly a top four player) and no club could develop quickly enough before he'll want to leave.
  4. If Real Madrid come in for him it's completely irrelevant if we make the Conference League, he'll still want to go.
  5. We still need to sell at least two players (plus one for every person we sign) to make a 25 man squad. Yet there seems to be next to no talk of further outgoings atm. Fernandez and Darlow have to go surely.

    João Pedro

I find these sort of arguments funny. Let's face it, have you ever seen Ekitike play in a full game outside of Youtube highlights? Have you ever seen Joao Pedro play outside of Newcastle v Watford? I highly doubt 99% of our fans have. Maybe there's more to it then what fans on the internet think from Youtube clips?

  8. Not necessarily, if he goes on loan we could cover 50% of his wages and Chelsea cover the remainder.
  9. Done. FYI there shouldn't be an apostrophe in your title:
  10. We have one of the highest homegrown percentages in the league - we don't really need to worry about it. The UEFA requirement is harder I agree. 12ft | Explained: How the Premier League’s homegrown rule is impacting your club’s transfers - The Athletic
  11. Four times? Bruno, Wood, Botman and who else?
  12. Might be missing something but why have you sent that? I'm a lawyer myself, I know what a general counsel does.
  13. He wont' really be doing anything like that. A general counsel is just another name for in-house lawyer. He'll be negotiating the legals on any club contracts but he won't actually be negotiating anything commercially.
  14. Imagine quoting Barca as an example of how to run a football club
  15. Everton clearly do, they've lost their best player because of FFP.
  16. Certainly doable. But West Ham aren't a top 6 team.
  17. It may not be a pipe dream but it's certainly not "more than realistic". We are behind West Ham as it stands let alone the top 6.
  18. Our form in the second half of last season was almost perfect. It's not sustainable or realistic to suggest we will maintain top 3 form throughout an entire season. We are competing against Man U and Arsenal for top 6, not West Ham and Leicester. That's a huge gap to bridge in one transfer window.
  19. It is not realistic in the slightest to suggest that we should be challenging the top 6 next season.
  20. True, but it would be stupid not to acknowledge that Lampard might have an advantage here with his previous Chelsea relationships.
  21. 100%. Regardless of what happens this is a direct result of relying on Championship players for far too long.
  22. It's incredibly ironic that you're calling me naive when all of these unwanted players are still here and we're struggling to shift them. Luton mustn't have got round to offering their 10k a week contracts yet. Most of the people in this thread are disagreeing with you, might be good to have some self awareness This has massively derailed the thread so will leave it there.
  23. Why is retiring to spend more time with your family different to seeing out your contract at NUFC because you want to spend more time with your family instead of moving away to Stoke? Let's face it, this all comes down to people wanting more money for NUFC to spend on players without acknowledging that the players themselves have their own concerns. Nobody really gives a shit about Clark "making the most of his career" by playing a couple more seasons in the Championship.
