He was regularly chosen before other central midfield options, largely as a result of his GRAFT. Hope he's shipped this summer (very unlikely) but to claim he doesn't try is a stretch. Who were they ? if you exclude for Hayden when he was injured. He was regularly rotated with Hayden first half of the season iirc. Hayden was clear first choice by the end though. Aye, then that would make it the only other option and not options then, wouldn't it ? Started ahead of Diame a fair bit. Hayden. Anita. Even Shelvey at one point. Different roles, but if Rafa despised him that intensely he had options. Diame played more in the 10 role for most of the season, i think we had limited options in CM all season long, especially when Hayden got injured. You're right though, i think Rafa quite likes him, which baffles the feck out of me. Yeah he works hard, but even then he makes that look as thick as fuck when he does it. He is utterly awful, just an utter waste of a shirt imo.

Pardew's fault mainly for me. I always think of the Stoke game where HBA was brilliant, i know it was 10 then 9 men but for him to then get dropped for the next game. It showed you Pardew was never going to back him, no matter how well he played. HBA isn't blameless mind, and that's without question when you look at his past with many clubs and managers.

He must be looked at as more than a mere squad player, i mean we have Sterry if that was the case. I think he'll be pushing for a starting place, Rafa sees something obviously.

Oh this is not good.

Absolutely. There's obviously a reason a guy as ludicrously talented as Hatem hasn't achieved more in the game. He's fallen out with someone at every club he's been at. Football has changed in a huge way over the last 10-15 years and the tactical side of the game is now more prominent than ever, meaning carrying a mercurial player is not an option for most teams wanting to compete at the very top. Having said that, I'd pull off my ballbag to have him back here. Not at Nice like.

Because he wasn't good enough to warrant PSG restructuring their playing style around him. It was a dumb move for both parties. That's it, well if you forgive him a bit for going there as it was his boyhood team. PSG getting him in, but to then play him in a totally different role, from the one they saw him excel in is as you say dumb as feck. And so is he for not seeking assurances he would get the role that suited him best Aye dumb move all round.

I suppose they're confused by the word free.

I'm baffled by PSG buying him and then changing his game from playing for Nice, the way of playing that made them sign him. Free role, scores over 15, sets up loads. Brilliant season. I know lets buy him and get him to defend more and not give him the very role and freedom he was so effective with. I dunno, maybe i'm seeing it wrong.

Amazing how we seemed to have learned nothing, a million short here a million short there. You have to pay more than you like sometimes, he's their player who they would rather not sell. And with this lad it's not like they're asking a ridiculous price, in fact it's rather low with the prices they are now. I hate this club at times, why does it always pull me back in when walking away would stop a life time of heartache.

Don't think Rafa ever wanted him, complete non story.

Are you a hippy or just utterly crackers ? It's just a shit colour. I like sky blue

Not awful signing if that's the money they've got to work with. Still, the vile c***s will do very well to get playoffs. 1.5 million for the pair. If they've got f*** all to spend it's not bad business. Outstanding business given their predicament. McGeady is top half championship standard easy and vaughan is a body in in a position they are scandalously short in. He will also see this as a last shot at getting back into the big time and will be extremely motivated. If they keep the current squad on paper they've one of the best midfields in that division and on that basis I think they should be aiming for playoffs with anything else a bonus. I think they'll ultimately miss out due to a lack of depth and a proven reliable consistent goalscorer. One of the best midfields in the division are you off your f***ing rocker. Theres no goals or creativity at all in that midfield its absolute s****. Anyone thinking these chumps will finish in the top half is out of their mind Their midfielders are (off the top of my head) rodwell, cattermole, lens, khazri, mcgeady. Bear in mind Colback made that division look easy at times last season. Goes without saying I hope they crash and burn like. You alright mate ?

Everton do give youngsters a go but is that going to continue with the money they're spending.
