Funerals are whatever the family feel they should be, or whatever the dying person wishes were alongside them.

I've been to a young child's funeral (a friend's son). I certainly wouldn't have been there if I hadn't know them. It was very tough (but nothing compared to how it was for the parents). I wonder why anyone would go to the funeral of a child they didn't know. I suppose it's because it's been in the public limelight and has drawn people to it, obviously mainly Sunderland fans. Also as the parents, how proud you would feel if thousands turn up at his funeral, knowing their lad has touched so many hearts. Like i said imo 99.9% who go will be genuine, personally i think it's a nice thing to do.

I would say 99.9% will go with geuine intentions, sod the rest.
  5. Wait. What like January or do you mean it's going to get more underwhelming I think he might have meant, it's July 9th and we're about what a fifth into the window. So saying the whole window might be a bit over dramatic like. Must admit it's getting a bit...oh come on ffs. I would agree but the pattern seems oh so familiar Can't argue with that up this point.

  7. Aye, sure Rafa would agree to stay on with nothing to spend. Could be he was fed horseshit like, and now the reality is showing up. Not my view mind.
  8. Not yet, i think just were haggling over every penny and don't do deals that don't suit us. Sometimes you have to give in and pay that bit extra, as Rafa himself has indicated before.
  9. Fuck that, Griffiths looks brilliant in Scotland as the league is dog turd. Stick him in the Premiership and he'd be shite.

    Alan Shearer

Just because they won eveything doesn't stop their bitterness towards Shearer, because he had the gall to join his hometown club in the hope he could make them great as well. Of course it bothers them, they're unbelievably arrogant and petty as it is. I suppose winning a lot might do that like.
  11. I don't know how anybody can even mention Aarons as a reason for not buying a wide player given he's fit to play maybe half a dozen games a season. I think we should buy a wide player and keep Aarons for the left side (back up). I'm going on the assumption we might buy two wide players, say Montero and Traore. I know it's a leap but if that was true i dont see the need to buy Traore to loan out Aarons. To be fair i'm ignoring Aarons's fitness problems for this. I just dont see the need to buy a player (Traore) to then loan out a player we already have (Aarons). Doesn't seem sensible when we have to juggle our money carefully. Obviously it's just my take on it and not likely to play out that way.
  12. I think we're buying 4 to 5 on a fairly restricted budget, and then it could become 6 to 7 if we sell some of the dead weight in the squad. Looks to me like Rafa is trying to squad up, rather than big name it. I'm pretty much convinced that would have been the plan all along, and probably partly his plan too. He'll know the squad isn't good enough, so he's juggling to see what he can do. This is where our owners refusal to speculate to accumulate is hitting us, add decent players to the squad and then put in a couple of big ones and excellent. Ain't goiing to happen and you do wonder with a manager like Rafa, whether that ever will. If Ashley can't really see what Rafa is, and what he can give you if you put a but more in, he'll never see it in any other manager.
  13. I dont get chasing Traore as we already have Aarons, unless Aarons isn't fit enough yet or going to get loaned out. Montero yes, inconsistent maybe but he's a step up on those two, with a fair bit of Premier League experience thrown in.
