It takes time for something like that to gel though.. Liverpool had it with Owen and then Torres, with Gerrard or Alonso putting them through. It was quite a coup for us at the time to sign him. I don't think anyone was to blame for the way it worked out. He got an awkward injury, a dislocated shoulder which had to be pinned back which takes way longer to heal, then it popped again if I recall correctly.. he never really recovered and he never had a long enough run in the first team to adjust to the English game. Could have been one of the nufc greats if things had gone his way. A sublime passer of the ball and a similar vision to the likes of Cabaye.

It's a fair point that if he's been even slightly better at his job and we'd have survived by the skin of our teeth, we'd be having a total reenactment of last season at the moment.
