Diame doesn't deserve to start either tbh.. He never seems to impress generally over the course of a game but he has a knack for getting in the right position when chances occur. Surely this would have been a good chance for Mitrovic and Gayle to start together.

I'm kind of struggling to see what the club did wrong here. It's not like Spotlight, they didn't hush it up and move him on to another area within the club. They got rid straight away. There wasn't exactly a precedent for this then. They could have done this and could have done that, but everything is black and white in hindsight. Chelsea are a whole different kettle of fish. Their statement didn't even deny that they gave the guy hush money. It's hard to put that in any sort of good light.

Annoyed watching that, 2 feeble penalties and Gayle with a wild attempt and also Atsu's was similar but lucky to have gone in under the bar. Shocking way to approach a shootout. I think the pitch played it's part second half but we didn't adapt when Hull did and ultimately a lot of them look like they didn't fancy it enough. First time this season I've been able to say that. Could have just closed out the game when we got the goal but the pitch and some very dodgy defensive positioning put paid to all that. Benitez will furious. Again, was disappointed on Saturday and then tonight but overall it's still quite positive.. we need a run of a few good games now or a mid season rut might set in.

Not his worst game for us. Needs to improve but fair play, doing better for us. Intelligent use of the player by Rafa as well, I have no doubt he'll be shifted on providing we get promoted.. and having game time will make him a more attractive proposition to championship clubs looking to invest next season.

Very damaging comments as far goes the rest of the squad. It may get one last good year out of the player though, especially if he's playing with the belief that he'll get a move to Barca

It's merely speculation but if Chelsea really did come in with a decent offer, it would be more of a draw for Ashley to hang on to him until we are promoted. Lascelles potential value could be far higher than 18m, even taking his playing ability to one side. He's a natural leader and a very good speaker with a certain clean cut look that is a PR departments dream. You forget he's still a kid basically and will have many of his best years ahead of him, his value will only increase.

I love the absolute nutter.. up there with Asprilla for being a cult figure. Hope he stays here a long time

Be very naïve to expect a top 10 finish should we win promotion this season I've seen a bit of the PL this season and it's apparent that the massive gap between the historical top 4/6 and the mid table is far less these days. There may well be more anomalies like Leicester in future seasons, but more so in the 3rd/4th places or Europa places.

It just reinforces how as a club, overall.. their existence is so dependant on us. There's no fight in them at all unless it's against us.

In previous seasons we've been capable of beating any of those teams and that was with an absolutely shocking defense. I'm happy with the draw we got but I honestly think we're compact enough, patient enough and are passing it around well enough to give any of those teams a tough game. So how does it work after the 1/4 finals? Do the remaining teams get drawn for the semis? And is the semi final over two legs? (yes I could google this but i'm asking..)

More crowd trouble again for West Ham, what's the reason behind it? Is it a case of known trouble makers being let back in with a fresh stadium? Good results for us tonight with Chelsea and City going out. If Liverpool could now draw Arsenal we'd be in with a much better chance of progressing.
