Football is a crazy game. Two fuckers playing for most of the season who couldn't be arsed keep their team in the league are rewarded with plum moves. Wouldn't it be great if someday there was some moral obligation on clubs to not keep these egos inflated.

Nee way he'll just be allowed to leave. I'd also be happy if he was signed up for longer. There's a reason we had to pay 8.5m to Ajax for him and there's a reason he was a regular starter for them too. Great attitude and he's getting to grips with the game here now I think. Technically great on the ball and versatile. Benitez loves a player like that. Does this Hayden kid for the bill for defensive midfield?

The rumour mill has gone totally dead. Are we done?

Rafa might be the perfect manager to get him playing at his best again. If he can instil some positional discipline in him and get him just keeping it simple like he did when he first arrived here he could be a very important player for us again. Think we still need another CM with a bit of creativity and a willingness to break forward like Rob Lee used to though. I don't think Shelvey can do that job, he seems to like to sit too deep and, in all honesty, seems a bit lazy. He's 32?.. very short term fix. I suspect Rafa will see it this way and for an important position like CM.. he may wait until we are promoted to go and sign a top class player.. someone we basically couldn't get right now. So for time being.. he won't get a better player than Tiote for that position. A bird in the hand etc..

Krul is still crocked. He won't be going anywhere until he's proved he's back to full fitness.
-
Rafa post match interview.. "first of all I wanna thank Jesus"
-
He'd be far more effective as a winger. If he could learn to cross the ball. What's the story with Jesus? Is he struggling for fitness? I did think he'd have played more minutes by now
-
Captain for the day. It obviously won't be him then.. wonder how he'd feel about Hanley getting it? Imagine the two of them having a fight over it.

Good appointment for them. Style of play isn't that dissimilar to what went before him. It's hard to say he's a better manager than Allardyce but between the two of them probably the best of the current British bunch. I have a theory about managers or players and certain clubs.. some are just a good fit. That was Everton for Moyes. He should never have left. With each new job his stock is lowering.. and now he finds himself at Sunderland. Probably wondering how it came to this. We can't say the same for Benitez.. we really lucked out there. If his family weren't still living in England, we wouldn't have had a chance signing him. But overall a solid appointment for them, they might even finish top 10 if there's a bit of a post hippo head bounce

From BBC.COM "Allardyce, a former Bolton, Newcastle, Blackburn and West Ham boss, becomes the 14th permanent England manager. He has never won a major trophy but did win promotion to the Premier League with Bolton, Newcastle and West Ham." Cunts. Absolute cunts.

The thing with Wijnaldum was that he thought he was better than the club from the start, you could tell by his attitude and especially work rate. He probably thinks he's too good to be playing for Liverpool too. I don't think anyone on here is going to say he's not one of the more talented players we ever signed, potentially top 10 (on talent. not results). The fucker probably thinks he'll end up at Real Madrid so he's not gonna bust his bollocks for anyone until then. I'll say one thing, if he pulls the same shit at Liverpool, those supporters will proper turn on him. It may take them a bit longer to cop what's happening but they will see the same traits we did eventually.

Haha this thread! Poor fucker getting roasted on here. For those old enough to remember this. "MTV Oddities presents... Grant Hanly" :-)
-
He's definitely missing a few chromosomes

Thauvin is a tidy player and "creative". He created a shed load of chances in the games he was on loan. Why bring someone in when we have that type player under our noses. But maybe he'll be sold.. did he play last night? Another LB would do. It's a very different looking squad to last year already. Although what would concern was the mistakes last night were so very last season.

If true that's unbelievable business from us. Are those figures gospel? Well my hp in Merseyside told me it's 25m up front plus they have to pay add ons next year which will be under 3m. And they have to pay PSV the sell on money. If that figure is 5m then it's gonna be that. It could be less but it's irrelevant to us.. really the fee to us will be 27-28m which anyway you look at it great business. He writes for one of the dippers rags. I just text him this morning to see if they were actually happy with that. They seem to think they were held to ransom by us.. again haha.
-
If we actually get £35m for Sissoko it will be one of the most overpriced transfers of all time. Carroll
-
The fee is actually 32.5m after add ons. The dippers have to pay 5m to PSV for the sell on clause and 25m to us up front. Another 2.5 after appearances etc.. Excellent business.
-
So he could turn out ok. As long as he doesn't play with Colback? Yet somewhere in this same thread when he made his debut there were numerous posts saying how Colback complimented his game. In fact, Colback got injured then.. and Shelvey's dip in form was attributed to not having a suitable midfield partner. I suspect there will always be a reason with this player.. he played well because of xyz... he played shit because of xyz.. when it's really his attitude that's the problem. He's probably using up Liverpool loyalty points with Rafa at the moment. Once they are gone his time will be up.
-
Great bit of business for a player who never showed up here. And good business for the dippers too. I'm sure he'll do alright there. His talent or ability was never in question, just his heart and attitude.
-
Are they saying one thing and thinking another? I do hate him, but not really for his time with us. It's just a general cunty thing. I despise Pardew and McLaren far more, I don't think Allardyce would have put up with Ashley's bollocks. The man is a bully, probably one of the main reasons Ashley got rid.
-
It's a pre-season game that we didn't lose. Let's not get carried away about his team selection or individual players. The one's who have already left were well expected to, he's yet to show his hand in terms of who he doesn't think is good enough for the squad. In fact, he probably hasn't made his mind up yet. Expect movement. Gini, Janmaat and Sissoko will be off. No doubt about, but reckon there'll be one or two surprise departures. I'm hoping it's Colback and Shelvey.
-
There's some people on the pitch.. they think it's all over
-
So what is the fucking score? 2-1 2-2? Hayden is a bit naughty.. crippled that poor Doncaster lad.
-
It's pure attitude.. Janmaat needs a good hiding, honestly don't see the point in playing these cunts if they're gonna be sold. All faith in Rafa so i'm wondering has he lined these up on purpose because he knew it wouldn't work? And wanted to see how say Lascelles would deal with it as captain? I'm 100% convinced Shelvey is not the right man for the squad. He can pick a good pass if he's given about 10 minutes on the ball, otherwise all he ever does is a little pirouette and a backwards pass. Won't drive forward and make things happen. You'd think training with someone like Gerrard would have taught him a few things.
