Would be very happy with Hudson-Odoi and I think the club should be pressing quite hard for him personally.
-
We should be looking at loan deals at this point if budgetary constraints are so keenly felt. Offer a sizeable loan fee with a view to a permanent deal. Hudson-Odoi Pepe Ziyech Lucas Moura Some names perhaps not realistic, but not confident we’re going to be bringing anyone else in on a permanent deal.

West Ham, Man United and Leicester. I think Villa will actually come good for large parts this season as well. My feelings would change if we brought in a player of Maddison’s quality and profile.
-
All very premature this talk I’d say. We’re heavily reliant on our best performers staying injury-free. I don’t think we have the squad depth yet to finish top 8 or above.
-
I do think we need to bring in another creative midfielder this window, it’s a risk being so heavily reliant on Bruno. I’d like to see the club take a punt on Lo Celso or Ndombele on loan.

Benrahma available for transfer at West Ham. Vlasic going to Torino.

Martin Dúbravka (now playing for Burnley)

Unless he’s pushing to move, this would make little sense from a squad-building perspective. -
James Maddison (now playing for Tottenham Hotspur)

Not particularly happy if Dubravka leaves. The whole point in bringing in Pope in my eyes was to make the overall squad stronger by dramatically reducing the gulf in quality between our keepers. -

I expect we’ll sign a player of his quality and profile every transfer window once our many commercial deals are fully in place. -

Can’t see Leicester selling, unless Maddison is really pushing for the move. -
Any player we have high hopes for in the U23 side should be going out on loan.
-
Hope we’re trying for Ziyech if he’s got any interest in coming here. Also think we should be asking about Hudson-Odoi.
-
Ziyech on his way out of Chelsea it seems, would love him here.
-
Very exciting to know we’re only just getting started. Every transfer window, we’re just going to get stronger and stronger, until we can challenge in every single competition.
-
It’s the type of signing which ultimately raises the quality of the squad as a whole. I understand the argument that Pope is a slight (if not any) upgrade on Dubravka, but he is undoubtedly a much better option than Darlow. It’s about raising standards everywhere on the pitch.
-
Dzeko perhaps if he’s made available for transfer with Lukaku returning to Inter.
-
I sincerely doubt Milan are going to even pay £30m, never mind more than that.
-
Still surreal to read Newcastle genuinely vying for players with the likes of Milan.
-
Have to say, when it comes to Newcastle, The Athletic are very poor when it comes to transfer news. Perhaps that’s just not the type of reporting they’re geared towards, but it’s always after the fact, with very little new information.
-
Delighted with this signing. Still holding out hope that Lewis can develop into a good option as well.
-
Quite disappointed we haven’t managed to secure a permanent fee for him outright, hopefully the conditions are easily achievable. We have no hope moving on the rest permanently you’d think.
-
I’d expect a CEO to be appointed in the next few weeks also. As far as I’m aware, I don’t think the press have reported on any potential candidates.
-
Perhaps might be to do with his previous cardiac issues, but surprised there haven’t been any rumours about Moussa Dembele. Superb goalscoring record, still only 25, with just 1 year left on his contract.
-
Wilson is a brilliant player, but to go into another season with him as the only viable option would represent a real failure in planning. I fear we’re wasting our time with targets like Nunez, the high price-point and competition from European clubs makes any prospective deal very difficult to do.
