  1. We need a long term successor to Schär which can be sorted in the medium term. Schär is our best CB imo, Botman will get better and surpass him but a successor to Schär needs to be in a similar mould in terms of on-the-ball ability and age to Botman. Andersen is not that imo. It'll be abroad we look for, as I say in the medium term. January perhaps but probably next summer.
  2. Unsure if there's any truth in the rumour itself but Chiesa may apply to that. Juve have a past for doing it for incomings and outgoings; it's how they signed Douglas Costa and sold Kulusevski.
  3. Tonali, Barnes, Livramento and a RW and I'll be delighted.
  4. Tonali OG from a Diaby cross to wrap it all up. Be a totally rational reaction from our fanbase across Twitter and this place as our fans are really level headed iirc. They'll get even more level headed when Szoboszlai scores for Liverpool two weeks later.
  5. Looking forward to the reaction to "16' Goal Villa. Diaby. [0-1] #NEWAVL" At approximately 17:46 on Saturday 12th August 2023.
  6. Immediately thought of this kit after seeing that.

Hope he gets the number 10 shirt to symbolise the tenner his namesake threw at Katie Cutler before fucking off over the River Styx with the 330k she raised for him.
  9. And it's daft imo if Howe likes Isak out wide, like. But that's another matter. Basically, it's alright to disagree with some of his team selections. We changed the way we played a tad after Man City away. Threw caution to the wind a bit after our run of 1 league win in 8 and 3 league goals scored in that time. Took Wilson and Almirón out, brought Isak, ASM and Murphy in. It worked as we scored more goals, were winning more games but became a bit leaky in defence as a result. When ASM was fit, he was in the team; played well v Wolves, iffy at Forest, MOTM v Man Utd and an assist at West Ham. Then got injured again. In contrast to 2021-22 where he started 31 matches, he just had an injury laden season, his worst one yet AFAIK.
  10. It was 7 matches he was benched for. Leicester LC, Fulham home, Palace away, both Southampton semi final legs, LC final, Man City away. He returned from injury and was back in full training on the 2nd January. Just find "if he's so good why's he been on the bench" a bit shortsighted. Howe hasn't got all of his team selections right as seen with him persisting with Wilson ahead of Isak when he looked shot to pieces up to mid-March. And in that time there have been times where ASM should also have been in the team ahead of Almiron in 2023, when he sometimes wasn't.
  11. Why do you think Isak was being left out by Howe post-WC when Wilson was stinking the place out from January-March?

Statue of Winston Churchill in his office too. Ties in.
  13. Another example of G&A not being the be all and end all could be Ronaldo at Man Utd 2 seasons ago; 27 goals & assists in all competitions. Have they been a better side without him, even though they still need a striker? Absolutely.

Messaged one of my Leicester mates about him; "You not slightly disappointed? Thought you'd go for better. He's very good at 1-2’s, mainly creates opportunities in that way as he doesn't often take on his man. If Howe can improve on that aspect of his game I can see him being a beast for you. However if he’s competing with Saint Maximin and Gordon on the LW I’m not too sure why you're signing him, unless one of them is being sold/loaned out"
  15. Downbeat about this, like. He's the kind of player that makes people fall in love with the game. For £30m as well? Fuck sake.
  16. Getting bossed around by a team founded in 2012. Howe out.
  17. Have more faith in Lewis Miley making it at the real top level than any of our academy lads in the last few years.
  18. IK it's only a testimonial but how's that not a yellow
  19. The We Are United surfer there. Looks class. Would like to see some displays at away games, like. If it was practical.

Genuinely thought he only needed decent coaching from a competent manager and set of staff and he'd turn into a decent option. In Howe's first few games in charge he was actually decent and I thought he was coming into his own a bit, but got injured at Anfield and hasn't been seen since besides the odd friendly and cup appearance. He's been ridiculously poor in those appearances since and he'll turn 26 in January. Need to farm him out on loan if no one will take him on a permanent.
