  1. Robbie Savage is fucking repulsive. Hope he encounters angry Fiorentina ultras on the way out the ground.
  2. People are wanting a new ground built in what is currently a green space in Leazes Park. Obviously wouldn't be as pricey as reclaiming a dock but work would still have to be done there. Fairs, you clearly know what you're talking about. Just don't want to see us move from SJP. St James metro station is anyway pretty grubby and I imagine hardly ever used. People tend to get off on matchday at Monument, Haymarket and Central I believe? For a drink/scran in town before heading up. Only issue is it's the yellow line's terminus so if St James station was to close you'd have to make changes to Monument station which is extra cost. And I imagine there's no way the station could incorporated into the expansion to some degree?
  3. My dad's had his extended so just going off that.
  4. I find it hard to believe that expanding the Gallowgate would come to close to costing anything near what a new 65,000 capacity ground would cost. Spurs' ground has cost £1 billion, Everton's is ~£500m, the Emirates cost £390m almost 20 years ago.
  5. According this article I found on .com they took out a £42m loan for it in 1997 and turfed out bond holders in the Milburn for new corporate areas. Spurs' new ground cost £1bn. You'd think a new ground up here would be cheaper as opposed to in London, but expansion would almost certainly be cheaper you'd think. FWIW, Anfield's extension at the Anfield Road End for an extra 7,000 seats is costing them ~£60m.
  6. They've frozen the prices again I think? Those on that original 10 year deal have had that extended again so I imagine prices won't go up. Also given they only issued 1000 STs in the summer, they probably won't issue new STs until they extend the ground imo. I hope they don't anyway given there's no way I can afford one right now.
  7. Think that winter break will be the same thing that they trialled in February 2020 in 2019/20. 5 matches one weekend, 5 matches the next weekend. So there's still football on but all teams get a week's break.
  8. There ya gan. https://archive.ph/WdqzB
  9. When they do the draw we'll know. Groups A, B, C and D play on Tuesdays and E, F G and H play on Wednesdays iirc. Separated into 17:45 and 20:00 kick offs (our home games will always be 20:00 kick offs). CL group stage dates: 1: Tue 19.09.2023 / Wed 20.09.2023 2: Tue 03.10.2023 / Wed 04.10.2023 3: Tue 24.10.2023 / Wed 25.10.2023 4: Tue 07.11.2023 / Wed 08.11.2023 5: Tue 28.11.2023 / Wed 29.11.2023 6: Tue 12.12.2023 / Wed 13.12.2023
  10. Had all 3 of the opening day, Boxing Day and last day at home in 2017-18 fwiw. Spurs, Man City, Chelsea. Hoping for something like Luton (H) first Burnley (H) Boxing Day Nottm Forest (H) last day Yeah it's true, it's why our Boxing Day record is so bad. Likewise with midweeks, tend to be v teams geographically close hence why games against Everton are almost always midweek. Haven't played at Goodison Park in the daylight with fans in the ground since March 2015, only time in the last 13 years.

  12. https://twitter.com/David_Ornstein/status/1665394325520261126?t=kxQQyS_ZxeM2-7-Jr4GAwQ&s=19 Ange Postecoglu to Topspur
  13. We covered the first row of seats in the Gallowgate and Leazes iirc in the Pardew Europa League run.
  14. My main issue is we don't give them any minutes at all. Naff loans ad infinitum until they reach ~24 and can't be considered young players anymore. It looks like we're not going to thankfully, but the idea of loaning out Anderson and/or L. Miley irks me because of that. Liverpool have always played young players in League Cup games; 3-6 of them alongside seasoned pros like Oxlade-Chamberlain, Firmino and Gomez and it's a positive environment for them especially at Anfield. A full house backing them and a taste of first team football. Some of them may not end up being good enough, but at least they're given a chance. Some of their last few lineups; Derby (H); Kelleher, Ramsay, Phillips, Gomez, Tsimikas, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Bajcetic, Clark, Frauendorf, Stewart, Carvalho Norwich (A); Kelleher, Bradley, Konate, Gomez, Tsimikas, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jones, Keita, Gordon, Origi, Minamino Leicester (H); Kelleher, Bradley, Gomez, Koumetio, Tsimikas, Henderson, Morton, Oxlade-Chamberlain, N. Williams, Firmino, Minamino Lincoln (A); Adrian, N. Williams, R. Williams, van Dijk, Tsimikas, Jones, Grujic, Shaqiri, Elliott, Minamino, Origi I've never heard of some of those names and probably won't see them again as some may have been sold already. But at least they were given that chance in their club's colours.
  15. Know nowt about him. Hope he's good. I hope we see a lot more youngsters get a chance next season with 4 competitions coming up. Constantly loaning out these lads to League 2 League 1 and shite SPL sides does nowt for their development, even if they get decent minutes. Given as a team with our style of play and smart signings we're on a similar trajectory to early Klopp Liverpool, we should play a lot of our youngsters in League Cup games, especially at home against shit sides. Look at some of the lineups that Liverpool have put out in that competition, you'd recognise like 3 or 4 names.
  16. So he is. Turns out I haven't got a clue as usual. As you were.
  17. Tad bit concerned about Bundesliga tax if we do for Szoboszlai but I have no qualms about Howe implementing players from abroad into our side. Would love Maddison here still mind as the bottom line is he's a quality footballer who guarantees goals and assists in the PL. Probably gone over this a million times before but I'd like to see us get a LB*, younger right footed ball playing CB**, more defensive minded CM*** and a RW who could player across the front 3 in the case of an emergency, eg injuries.**** *Kieran Tierney **Mohammed Kudus maybe but unsure on names and unsure if we've even been linked to any CBs yet outside of Kudus and Kim Min Jae who I imagine would cost a hefty wedge. ***Amadou Haidara, Manuel Kone, Khephren Thuram, Edson Alvarez ****Dominik Szoboszlai, James Maddison, Moussa Diaby, Marcus Thuram, Ferran Torres (unsure if Maddison or Szoboszlai would play here tbh like but y'kna) I had a ticket for the True Faith journalist get together thing on Monday but because I was in Edinburgh for Springsteen I couldn't go, but apparently what was said was Howe is allegedly not keen on Diaby which I was disappointed to hear but one of the names we are looking at is Ferran Torres. Unsure what his wages would be but that's what was said.
  18. 4 Europa League games I've watched the whole way through now this season and in each one the standard has been absolutely garbage.
  19. Would've had absolute prime Jose here, 2003-2011 Jose. Not now though. I do like him though, the SBR connection and how he feels about NUFC being the crux of it. But also the memes, how much he hates Spurs his all round character from afar since he left Man Utd I like/find funny. Then again I watched next to no football outside of us in the COVID era so he was hardly ever on my TV screen so I'm probably not the best to make a judgment of him.
  20. Amazed but somehow not surprised. Doesn't matter anyway, we all know how well he's done and how good he is.
