Praying that he doesn't get number 20 now.

Pre-season (2025/26) - NUFC to Tour Singapore
HaydnNUFC replied to bowlingcrofty's topic in Football
Game against Brighton sold out. We are massive. -
Moment that isn't in there, after his assist for Anderson v Forest which was scandalously disallowed he just walks off on his own flicking his wrist at how awesome he is.

Admitted on page 2 that I am unaware of his contractual situation and/or Milan's financial issues, if there are any. Tonali was a key midfielder in Milan winning their first scudetto in 11 years last season; €50m/£42.75m for him and the (alleged) same fee for Barella who's cited as one of the best midfielders in Europe seems a bit low on the face of it imo, all I was saying.
-
Offering 100m combined for both Barella and Tonali does seem to be teetering into the 'taking the piss' zone of transfer offers, mind.
-
€50m seems too low an offer to me. Unaware of his contractual situation or Milan's financial state, like. But can't see that going anywhere as much of a good fit he would be. Likewise with Barella.

Almost always sign him on FM. Intriguing that we're (seemingly) looking at midfielders in Serie A.

James Maddison (now playing for Tottenham Hotspur)

Not that it's my money like but £50m is way too much for a player with 1 year on his contract left. £30m-£45m, aye. No higher though. -
James Maddison (now playing for Tottenham Hotspur)

I'd take either. Maddison guarantees goals & assists at PL level, helps mend one of our achilles heels in breaking down deep sitting defences and (assuming the preferring Spurs story is just more transfer press bollocks) clearly fits the character mould that the club have been looking for over the previous 3 windows. Szoboszlai is 4 years younger than Maddison, looks stronger physically and must have his wits about him in terms of his character given he's captain of his national team. The unknown, bringing a player in from abroad, more often than not excites me for whatever reason more than a PL buy. However attacking players coming in from the Bundesliga haven't always translated well to the PL in recent years, though I have no qualms about Howe integrating him here just as he has with Bruno, Botman and Isak. Whatever happens happens. Fully trust those at the club (within reason, a huge no to the likes of McTominay and Gallagher from me). Learned from flapping last summer regarding our striker chase before ending up with Isak. -
Did a good job with Vallecano. 11th and 12th placed finishes and a Copa del Rey semi final. Was also one of the coaches that Howe visited in his time between Bournemouth and coming here. Intrigued to see how he does.

Potentially Jacob Murphy vs Joselu in the Bernabeu in the CL. Who'd have foreseen that in 2018.
-
Clark's red v Norwich people pinpoint as the start of his outrageous redemption arc but imo it started two weeks before in Howe's first game in charge v Brentford. He was MOTM that day too.

Unreal. So happy for him. Deserves every bit of this.

Luckily enough I'm in a position where I can afford most if not all matches, went to every home match in all comps last season and did 3 away games. But that pricing is a tad bit steep when factoring in that this is the biggest football club in the least affluent area of the country. May be wrong, hope I'm wrong, but all the to and fro-ing about these prices all over social media doesn't bode well for the future if they get scandalous. Liverpool fans walked out of a league game on a particular minute back in 2016 in protest of price hikes where general admission tickets would be £77. Given all the 'if you can't afford it don't go' and 'we could charge more and still sell out' stuff I've seen I've got 0 optimism we'd ever do similar in remotely similar circumstances.

She's OTT like but it is fair to be bemused at £55 per CL group game when Chelsea, a bigger club in London with a smaller ground by over 10,000, charge £35 per group game. £30 per FA Cup game is bit mad as well. Same price whether we're playing Barrow or Man Utd.
-
Leicester appointing Pitbull. Fair play.
-
Minging start with Man City and Liverpool back to back twice. But we're class now and finished above 5 of the teams in our opening 6. We probably should've had something away at Man City last season too. Bring it on, clamming for football.

Games against Everton midweek again. Played at Goodison with fans in the daylight once in 14 years.

"Just like Joao Pedro to Newcastle here we go amirite?" "Nah but seriously hope Luke Edwards is involved in a house fire."

Wage structure must be gradually improved if we are to improve and close the gap on the top clubs. Give him £200k and Bruno a new contract closer to that.
