He's got pace, grafts and presses well off the ball. That's it. He's not blessed with technical ability at all and in possession in incredibly predictable. Not good enough to be starting for a top 4 side but a good squad option to have with 4 competitions next season. He shouldn't near the majority of PL or CL lineups next season after this summer.
-
Howay, man.
-
He's had a great season and also similar to Murphy, Almirón is a good squad option to have but for a club with ambition to be in the top 6/4, he isn't good enough to be a starter. Also ASM showing why he must be held onto so far. Had a great game.

And again. Could've had a hatty.

Good showing here of how much we need a RW in the summer.

Well deserved and not before time. Imagine being told that in 2020

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)

The arse licking would be unbearable from some if we got Rangers. -
Don't overly care who goes down today. Got mates who support Leicester and Everton plus losing Leeds for flipping Luton Town is a bit mad. Everton Spaces in the event that they go down would be unmissable though.

Regarding the earlier discussion with us in pot 4, want a group that gives us a very good chance of getting to the RO16 but want at least 1 huge club. ie Feyenoord, Real Madrid, Red Star Belgrade, Newcastle. Many other combinations I'd love though. -
Not looking forward to seeing "9' Goal Luton. Adebayo. [1-0] #LUTNEW" At approximately 12:39 on 12th August 2023.

As much as I wanted Coventry up to go from non league to the PL is some going. Fair play.
-
Agree. Which is why they are both positions which need upgrading.

Bliddy hell.

Absolute lifeline for Coventry.

Oh fucking hell.

Almirón has had a great season when looking at his numbers but when you look at his whole tenure here, including his form in 2023 so far, there's nothing there to suggest that the run he had in October-November wasn't a purple patch. He's very useful in games where we don't see a lot of the ball but press the opposition, as seen v Brighton the other day, but as an attacker where we have a lot of the of the ball and the onus is on us to unlock a deep sitting defence I don't think he's good enough for a CL team. His all round play in possession is poor imo. Good squad option to have with 4 competitions next season, likewise with Murphy, but if I was to give you an ideal starting XI for next season after the transfer window has closed Almirón is not in it.

Lascelles has only started twice this season on the league iirc, Liverpool and Man City both away. He did well in both, but that's because I think he's a competent box defender. Good in a defence that's sat deep like we were in those games. If we're sat higher up and are seeing a lot of the ball I don't think he's useful. He isn't good at bringing the ball out or finding passes and we're in trouble if the ball is played over the top of him in a high line as he turns like a tanker.

Newly promoted side at SJP first game of the season is a lush fixture to start off with.
-
Understand some trepidation about playing newly promoted sides in their first home game of the season but at SJP, absolutely not. Did not fear Forest one bit this season and low behold, they were absolutely terrible. One of the most one-sided games of ours this season.
-
Coventry for me but they haven't turned up yet so far.

Deserved tbf.
-
Howay Coventry.

Just read that. Terrible, patronising article written by a terrible journalist who has clearly not watched us for more than 2 or 3 matches this season. The top comment is a great response.
