More of their 2019-20 season imo. They dropped off massively post Christmas though, Vardy's goals hugely dried up.
-
That goal has been coming for weeks. Fully deserved, been great this season.

Anyone see/remember that graphic of PL points after 40 games next to our managers? He's only a few off Keegan
-
Nowhere near our best yet still won 1-4, away from home. Supporting us now, this is a first for me. Is this how people felt in 1993-94? This is insane

This is the best we've ever been in my conscious support of Newcastle. Honestly don't know what to think Willock's deserved that, been coming for weeks. Get in

GET IN

Botman, wat

Arteta like he's been on the sniff each time he's on touchline

He's the GOAT.

Maddison would be such an outrageous coup to the point where I doubt we'll get him.

Option 2, easily. Was their crest in the 80s/early 90s iirc. Guessing that you'd agree? @brummie

Day before my brother's birthday, 4 days before my birthday and a week before Christmas. Won't be able to afford that, like. Is what it is.

I'm more thinking about the away supporters than Manchester United themselves. Read the thread, postponing those games a couple days after the queen's death is going to have an absolutely manic fixture schedule that won't be finalised ~2 weeks before the games are actually played.
-
Postponing those games on 10-11 September because of the Queen snuffing it was an absolute masterstroke. You'd think they'd end up being played in the FA Cup replay slots assuming that Man Utd can sort out the outcome of their early ties but what a fuck on for away fans, having to sort out travel and/or accommodation at incredibly short notice.

De Kuip, my god.

I talk to my dad about it quite a lot as he started going to games regularly from 1968-1975. Main reason he dislikes Liverpool is because of 1974: he was at Wembley for it and we simply just didn't turn up but it was more about the fact that we'd won more trophies as a club than Liverpool had when that match kicked off; if we had won that cup final, would we have been the club that went on to be successful, win 4 European Cups in the following decade? Who knows. Instead we made poor managerial appointments post Harvey and went down to the Second Division for 6 years before winning promotion and reverting to type in the 80s, selling Waddle, Beardsley, Gascoigne and not replacing them adequately. The joke of a pursuit of McFaul's replacement, etc. Newcastle United has been a club with an absolute gold mine of potential hidden underneath the surface but it's been run so badly for the majority of its history. We came close between 1992-97 but we've still not won a major thing for decades. Criminal. Think it's being realised now however.

If I could get rid of the Saudi baggage tomorrow and have just Reubens and Staveley and her husband in charge, I would tbh. But that's not going to happen so here we are. Am I repulsed by what goes on in KSA? Aye. Will that affect my own personal support for Newcastle United? Nar, because I was here before them and I'll be here after they've gone. Will I ever try and defend or deflect from KSA when someone criticises them? Absolutely not. Will I defend NUFC fans who get attacked for merely supporting their football club that they always have done? Absolutely.

Can't ask me fatha as he stopped going to games for a bit post 76-ish but why or how did it go so badly wrong in 1977-78? I know we sold Macdonald in '76 but we ended up finishing 5th that season, following season we won the first game of the season against Leeds then lost 10 games on the bounce. Like, what the fuck? Down without a solitarity whimper. Was it because Gordon Lee fucked off to Everton in January '77 and we replaced him with a guy with next to no credibility in being in charge of a First Division club in Dinnis?
