  1. While the amount of yer da piss he boils is funny I do think we can find better value or tbh just a better striker elsewhere. Agree with you on Gray tbf, but he's the only player at Everton I'd take.
  2. I'd avoid anyone from that Everton squad like the absolute plague. Don't overly rate him either, was good under Ancelotti but has been largely poor seemingly. Everyone saying he's good in the air but naff 1v1. Arsenal fans celebrating the fact we're in for him and not them. Everton fans happy to let him go. It's a no from me.
  3. He's taking us down. Get Benitez in right now.

The .com match report, especially the last 6 or so lines has always stuck in my mind after reading it for the first time.
  5. Dubravka needs replacing but medium term imo. One more season. Would rather whatever budget we have goes toward more pressing matters like striker and winger. Could loan Dean Henderson in, I suppose.
  6. True. Kamara would be on a free, out of contract in the summer. Raphinha has a relegation release clause of £25m, Targett would cost £12m-£15m. No clue on Botman or Paqueta, but Nunez would be the most expensive of the lot. We'll likely only get 2 or 3 big money signings anyway tbh.
  7. The no idea if realistic XI. Really struggled to think of a striker, no idea who we're looking at, could afford and would come here. Would love Gabriel Jesus here, but was a toss up between him, Nunez or Osimhen. Also have Milan signed Botman yet? Swap out with fuck knas if so.
  8. Been a while since we've had a resident mackem tbf. @Stray Mackem I remember used to be alright, until you got him on Brexit.
  9. They're both nice, the black and white one is lush. No idea why the small blue bits on the shirt are such a light shade, should be dark blue if there's any blue on it at all. Colours on a magpie are black, white and dark blue. Wouldn't be averse to going back to dark blue numbers a la 2003-05 instead of red tbh, never been a huge fan of them. Also really hope none of our kits are Saudi green, easy thing for Miguel, Tariq and friends to hit us with as if there's not enough already.
  10. It's still shite. Super League through the back door.
  11. Had a look for the stats from that game and found these. 60% possession, 26 shots, 20 shots on target, 19 corners. Lost 1-4. Like a game of UT on Fifa.
  12. Aye, think they'll go up now. They need to be aware though that the jump from League One to the Championship nowadays is massive, biggest jump in the pyramid imo. Will be a battle to stay up next season.

Aye. Marc Corby though, the guy who runs NUFC 1980-1994, said that us missing out on Europe in 1994-95 changed the fanbase quite a bit. Great days and atmospheres after that obviously, but it will be inevitable. This season, next season and the one after (assuming we recruit correctly) will be the seasons that we look back on in years to come and say that we enjoyed the most.
  14. His goal away at Spurs in December 1993 is something you'd see Messi score, unreal.
  15. When people talk about great PL striker partnerships, it proper irks me that Beardsley and Cole is never mentioned. 67 league goals in a season and a half together ffs.

    Overrated players

This may be harsh, more 'underperforming' than overrated and even though I love him, Paulo Dybala. Was tipped to be one of the best players in the world in 2017-18 and his numbers hugely suggested that, but since that season he has not hit those heights. Injuries and never being central often enough at Juve when Ronaldo was there has affected that though imo.

2004, last home game of the season to relegated Wolves, drew 1-1. Shearer missed a pen and no one stayed for the lap of honour at the end. .com match report in the spoiler. One thing I thought about reading that and yesterday when the Man City goals were going in with the state of that ground, I hope we don't become soulless. Atmospheres et al will always drop off as you improve as expectations change, like a home game against Brighton in 5 years time won't have as good an atmosphere as the one this season did. But if we were to move from SJP (hope not) and we're consistently in Europe and challenging there's going to be a huge tail off in regards to atmosphere. The guy who does the NUFC 1980-1994 accounts on Twitter and YouTube I've asked why he cuts off the name of his accounts at 1994, and he said that the expectations after 1993-94 went up quite a bit and the atmospheres and occasions at SJP were hugely affected and weren't what they used to be. It's inevitable but it's disheartening to think about a bit. Long way to go I suppose.
  18. Worrying. Shouldn't have bought Weghorst for Burnley.
  19. We were linked in January iirc.
  20. Don't think he was a terrible player but Eidur Gudjohnsen.
