But we need to pay the prices if we want to stay up, the squad is on its knees and needs help, desperately. If it takes €45m or €50m for Carlos and likewise for another CB, and the 20m-50m region for a striker, and we get another CM in plus Lingard, and we stay up, it'll be worth it. Because we'll have to rebuild the squad whatever happens at the end of this season, so we may as well start now. Pay the prices.

Posted it a few times now but the lack of midfielder links is alarming. Given the utter state of Longstaff the last time we played at Elland Road I don't understand why that's not been prioritised along with Carlos rather than another forward, as much as we need another forward.

It's why we're desperate for at least a centre half and midfielder. The bulk of our players are at their alleged peak (albeit they've actually regressed) but they are still in the mentality of playing deep, low block, low possession football and as good a coach as Howe is you can't change that in players that are 27-30 who have been doing that for ~4 years. He needs his own players in to put his proper stamp on it or we're screwed due to the lack of alternatives.
