  1. Manchester United need to suspend him, surely. Hard to try and suggest that people need to hear Greenwood's side after those images like. Beyond sickening stuff.
  2. It started away at Burnley in November 2018 where we won 2-1. But its been at literally every game since. You find a clip of our fans on YouTube after that point and guarantee they'll be singing it. Just like a bit of variation. O'Brien, aye. Colo? In the pub away at Leicester last month his song was sung along with Lovenkrands and "do the Ameobi and you turn around" but never did it get sung in the actual ground.
  3. If there was a Chris Wood song it didn't come through on my stream and I haven't seen it on social media anywhere. Perhaps the variety of fans affects that but I still think it's naff. Probably an unpopular opinion but I personally think 'who's that team called united' is shite. Admittedly, probably because it's all we seem to ever sing and I've just gotten bored of it. We sing it during and at the end of every single game. Alongside the following Blaydon Races (at absolute light speed) A player's name repeated Eddie Howe's B&W army Toon Toon B&W army Newcastle (repeated) I understand that some of those are staples but can we think of nowt better? Why doesn't Saint-Maximin have a song yet? Will Bruno get a song which isn't just 'Bruno' repeated over and over? Even Callum Wilson's chant is just Shearer's chant that we've always sung. One thing I admire (probably the only thing) about Man Utd's supporters is they still sing songs for old players like Cantona, Best, Rooney, Ronaldo before he came back this season et cetera. Why can't we? Sing the Terry Hibbitt on the wing song, we've got Mirandinha, chants about Ginola, Robert et al if we had any. Just makes it a tad more interesting. The variety of fans though certainly affects the prevalence of the shit songs I mentioned like 'don't take me home' and that. Those songs are the fucking pits.
  4. I think it will. You see at games with higher loyalty point requirements that the support is better and there's no news hardly of bother. This may come with a slight negative though, as this may breed a quasi elitist group amongst fans with high amounts of loyalty points. I think the point system is fair fwiw, but I've already seen those with high numbers of points on social media take the piss out of those who don't which is totally uncalled for. I aim to get my ST back for next season and I accept I'll have to start again in terms of points but it's going to be very difficult to. It's why I want to see the club award loyalty points for any home FA or League Cup ticket that's bought, but that's another topic altogether. Old post of mine in this very thread That still is the case for us now but it is with many clubs, especially the likes of Leeds, Man Utd, the mackems and Villa amongst others. Our away support is brilliant in terms of numbers and noise made but it seeps into things like the songbook. I personally think our songbook is really, really shit. It's the same 4 or 5 chants repeated all the time along with a particular player having his name repeated to no tune at all then you'll get the mongs we're on about chanting 'don't take me home', 'your support is fucking shit', 'is this a library', 'sunderland get battered' whilst they're winning and we're losing to name a few. Ugh.

    Aye. This is probably a subject for another thread but I think it's the case with most clubs that always take good away followings, us, Leeds, the two Manchester clubs, Everton, et cetera. Younger fans aged between like 15 and 23/24 that tend to jump onto large allocations for games away from home or games that go to 0 points are where you tend to find them and to them following your team away from home is about getting absolutely mortal drunk, doing gear, winding opposition fans up, smashing up concourses, chucking beer around and just being a general twat. Not blaming all of or just that age group but I'm still in that bracket of age and it's what I mainly see. Following your team home or away for me is just backing the lads to the hilt and enjoying the craic with who you go to the games with over a few pints before and after. Not that shit.
  7. Anyway... Canny interview with him from the summer. https://www.gameplan-a.com/2021/07/bruno-guimaraes-reflects-on-a-new-team-new-language-and-new-life-during-a-pandemic/
  8. Unsure why we have two football pet hates threads but for the sake of good order;

    No mags in Durham then until King Kev went around handing out Sky dishes house to house in collaboration with the North Sea and a mysterious cabal of Tyneside businessmen. All massive lads fans until then marra.
  10. Think it would work if we had ASM running in behind instead of coming deep looking for the ball, along with a new winger such as Lingard and Willock making the runs beyond Wood. Do agree though, just no clue who we could get.
  11. Be chuffed if we can get Lingard in as he fits that perfectly. But bit mad how given all the cries to get more CBs in we've signed anything but so far.
  12. Be belting this out if we really are after him and he signs.
  13. He's a handsome motherfucker too. Phwoar.
  14. Been posted before but really good analysis.
  15. Its done. I know Romano gets stick on here but when he says 'here we go', it's done. https://twitter.com/search?lang=en&q="Here we go" (from%3AFabrizioRomano)&src=typed_query

    6 nowt man. In League One.
  17. Hope it goes as well as his first PL game at Chelsea.
  18. Nketiah plus Lingard would be sound. Nketiah alone is slightly meh. Understand he's still a young lad and learning but it is underwhelming like, especially if it's only him coming in after Bruno.
