  1. Change the lion then. The rest of it is fine.
  2. I think it's looks shit tbh. Seems tightened together and more of something you'd see for a Hasbro version of our badge. Can we just leave stuff alone that isn't broke? In terms of cleaning up the badge if someone absolutely had to, when you Google our crest you find these two designs which I vastly prefer to that guy's redesign.
  3. He's had his best games both in terms of output and performance when played in the number 10, where he played for Atlanta. But we've seldom played with one. Bruce went to a 4-4-1-1 just before COVID in 2019-20 and we had a run of games after the restart where he played well and scored a few goals. Burnley (h) D 0-0 West Brom (a) W 3-2, scored twice, played a key part in our third, Bruce then took him off and that's when we almost fell to bits Southampton (a) W 1-0, along with Gayle spurned a few chances but was in the right areas - COVID - Sheff Utd (h) W 3-0, can't remember much of this tbh Villa (h) D 1-1 Bournemouth (a) W 4-1, scored an unreal goal for 0-3 West Ham (h) D 2-2, scored again, finished off a lovely move for 1-1 Then he was never played in the 10 again until Southampton (h) last season where we won 3-2 and he scored twice and covered loads of ground when we went down to both 10 and 9 men. He shouldn't be played on the wing and if Howe wants to keep this 4-3-3 next season I'd cash in tbh.
  4. The thread translated; Bruno Guimarães participated in the Gringolândia podcast, from @geglobo, and commented on his arrival at Newcastle United. You can follow the episode on the main platforms of the modality and on the GE website. Below are some excerpts. #nufc About his arrival at the club, Bruno Guimarães commented: "It was a very quick negotiation, in 4.5 days we solved everything... I never hid my desire to play in the Premier League, it was always my dream and goal." On the choice to sign for Newcastle United, given the club's situation in the table: "I'm a player who loves challenges and I knew it would be difficult. But I spoke with the owners and with Joelinton. It was a very difficult decision of my life, it was not easy." About the project: "I believe in the project. The fans are passionate about the team, it's too different. Next season I believe it will strengthen to, who knows, seek a spot in the Champions League, in the Europa League. " About Eddie Howe: "I believe a lot in the coach. He's a very smart guy in my perception. He's a guy who likes to work, so he's always looking to improve the players. He's always showing videos, he's always trying to be better than the other coaches." On the perception of the crowd: "The guys here have already made music, shirts with my photo. Shirts with several pictures of me. When I make passes it's 'Bruno, Bruno, Bruno'. It's been really cool, I'm enjoying it a lot here"

    On this day...

That was a great side but imo the 2013-14 side before we sold Cabaye was better. We were 6 points off top after we stuffed Stoke on Boxing Day. Cabaye was sold and it all fell apart, arguably the start of the downward spiral to relegation in 2016.
  6. IMO the only possibility of him staying injury free if he's not the only decent striker at the club. Some of the names we've been linked with such as Nunez or Osimhen would be perfect with Wilson behind them, but if we're relying on him again next season something will have gone wrong in the summer. He's only been available for 39% of his games here and has never had a season at Bournemouth without a long term injury either.
  7. How do people feel about the idea of selling Wilson if we got a good fee? I'd consider it tbh. I love him but he's only been available for less than 50% of the games he's been at the club for and that is incredibly poor. 41 PL appearances out of a possible 105.
  8. Nunez, Kamara, Botman. The article also says we've remained in contact with Lingard who I'd still take, assuming Almiron and/or Murphy are going to be moved on.
  9. Well he got the £50m January budget spot on so I'm sure this cutting edge reporting is more than accurate.
  10. Yes and no. It means that clubs can't spend more than 70% of their income, including wages, on transfers. However there'll be a 3 year transitional period, first 90%, then 80%. Clubs that can inflate their revenues or dilute the dodginess on their balance sheets a la Man City with sponsorships then obviously 90, 80 and 70% of their income is going to be far higher than clubs outside the big 6 and outside the PL. We'll be okay once we can get the sponsorships in, assuming that the 'fair market value' shite doesn't wash anymore or expired. If it's still in place, who knows but either way it's going to be some summer. Once we get into Europe (mainly the CL) our revenues will be incredibly big compared to what they were or are now. Last season's figures have us 28th and that's with no Europe, crowds and Ashley imposed austerity.
  11. Already put mine on Twitter but if I could only pick 1 (as there's fucking loads) it's the sheer elitism. Not just in the context of the Super League attempt but as a whole, the wider media, fans, et cetera. Top level European football is a quasi plutocracy anyway but I fucking despise when clubs, managers, journalists, fans, pundits talk in such a manner. Klopp on 5 subs for example, get to fuck you odious cunt. Constantly looking for ways to add to what is an already gapingly wide gulf between his club and those below. Ties into punditry and journalism too. If a "big 6" is struggling it'll always be along the lines of "this is club x, club x is enormous, this shouldn't be happening". No, club x is where they are on merit, if they're fucking shit they're fucking shit, because they won a few trophies a decade or so ago doesn't or shouldn't change that. That clubs below the "big 6" should 'stay in their lane' when they try for big players or try challenging the Super League nonces for European football or honours. Just absolutely hate it and it's been a staple of the Premier League era.
  12. Would probably implode if Dybala ended up here.
  13. Can play as a striker, really a number 10 though. Gonna hate seeing him playing for one of the 6 Super League nonces.
  14. He can be criticised. However, he's probably the least of the squad's problems and is getting mass criticism from the NUFC yer das. Same ones there did so to Ginola, Robert, HBA. He grows into games (only scored 1 first half goal) and probably is not fully up to speed. But imo because he grows into games I'd either start him or not bring him on at all when the games have been as tight as the last 2.
  15. Had exactly the same mentality at Bournemouth when keeping them up from going down from League 2.
  16. You could argue it's the only place that we didn't strengthen in January. We just desperately needed a body to be ready for what was a huge game against Watford to play up front and went for Wood. He'll talk him up in the press as a manager would but you'd think he knows we have to be getting better for next season.
  17. We have Palace, Wolves and Leicester all to play at home still. Wolves have lost 3 of their last 5, Leicester are having a poor season by their standards and Palace aren't great shakes. I can see us being more or less safe by full time away at Norwich tbh. Would be 12 points left to play for by then and can see us being around that margin clear of 18th by then. Burnley can be a break glass in case of emergency fixture.
  18. Hopefully the break clears the players' minds and we're able to get a couple back too. Would take a point but would have to graft our bollocks off to get it. https://youtu.be/2jhncL-h_f8?t=519 https://www.premierleague.com/video/single/651663?TAG=On this Day
  19. Gayle lost a big chunk of his pace after his muscle injuries in early 2017. He's now 5 years older and has proven throughout his career he's not a PL level goalscorer. Wood is incredibly poor and if he's near any PL matchday squads next season then something will have gone very wrong in the summer. Stay up, sell him. And sell Gayle too.
  20. We'll get the points we need from one of or both of Wolves and Leicester, Norwich and Burnley. Maybe Arsenal as well, depending on what the top 4 is looking like.
  21. It was an off day/night tonight. All teams have those games where both sides aren't clicking and one moment pinches 3 points: we did it against Villa at home and away at Leeds. Everton did it against us tonight. Nowt to do with tactical setups, it's just the players don't click. But aye questions on ASM for me. We've brought him on 2 games running at 0-0; one where we looked solid and the other in control without really creating much and in both we've gotten worse as a result. Why is that? And in both nothing he tries came off. Can't even count drawing a red card as it wasn't a red.
