  1. I suspect the five invited guests would be the highest bidders.
  2. Only takes one pundit, currently in opposition, to accept a widely reported huge contract at the official broadcasters and this will sail through. Bill Gates didn't lift 33% of the global population out of poverty, into relative poverty, for nothing. That's a lot of people who can now afford subscriptions.
  3. Completely agree. I grew up watching Notts Forest win the European Cup in a series of two-legged ties, and loved it. Never missed a European night from then on. Ipswich, Spurs, Aberdeen, Everton, One of the Dundees, Villa, and of course Liverpool. Every game had something at stake, and was exciting for that reason. Gained a wealth of knowledge on foreign players, making the international competitions deeply engaging. Still remember an argument, in the 90s, with a friend that tried to claim Jan Ceulemans was Dutch.
  4. The English first division still existed. We won it first year.
  5. And when Real win the first super league it won't be referred to as their first European title. Because it won't be.
  6. I don't think I heard anybody say it was their first title.
  7. Christ man. The government are struggling to keep their own corruptions down to two a week, and you think they're going to save football for the common man. Yeah right.
  8. No you don't. It's just a different landscape for stories to be written.
  9. Same as Liverpool with their 19 PL titles.
  10. Aye. The pundits will probably never hype another game as long as we live.
  11. That history will still exist. Just like the history before the PL still exists [if rarely mentioned].
  12. How many times? The plan is to remain in the PL.
  13. Thunderdome. Two go in, one comes out.
  14. It'll be easier to boycott the games in Asia.
  15. With JP Morgan propping it up, I doubt they'll have a problem finding sponsors.
  16. Football only existed to distract the masses from them destroying the world. Now they've completed that job they no longer care.
  17. So, contractually, those 6 clubs can not be relegated? It should be nonsense, but...
  18. Sounds like NFL. Maybe they can keep it fresh by moving the Dons from Milton Keynes to Inverness.
  19. Yep. All the talk of the clubs being banned from regular football is nothing more than a way to clear a path. Fans thinking clubs will be banned are less likely to kick up a fuss.
