How can it ever be "done for good"? Even if MBS stands on the roof of Buckingham Palace and announces it s over, he can still change his mind five minutes later.

Ref was worried he'd be accused of racism if he booked Crooks.

I think we all know it's both. And fuck knows what else. Although the PL probably only care about the piracy.

Decisions have been made.

The least they could do is tell us if he acknowledged the question. Why all the secrecy all of a sudden?

Journos will love it too. That's the first paragraph of every match report already written.

There was a similar level of hatred directed at Peter Beardsley, in the 80s. We were 40 years ahead just didn't have twitter.

I was all set to post a thumbs up and acknowledge defeat, then I remembered West Ham must have been included in the Top Six without me noticing Did the PL/FA have any involvement in the Olympic Stadium? Nope. Well, there you go. Well, sure, then your point stands. Wembley was dodgy as fuck - even worse was letting them have two home grounds in the same season. Yup, clear case of... dodginess. Don’t know it convinces me the PL acts corruptly on behalf of the Top Six, but I’ll certainly accept that it was a corrupt decision that benefitted one of the Top Six. Truth be told, I’m partly hostile to the notion of a Top Six cartel because, well, when was the last time the Top Six finished in the top six positions. Tottenham might well have been CL finalists last year, but does the PL really care if they are challenged (or supplanted) by Leicester or Wolves in the medium term? Arsenal were one of the top tier clubs in the PL almost since it’s inception, but when did they last challenge for more than a CL place? Like, I get Top 6 bleating, just don’t get why it supposedly gets listened to. Tbh, spurs didn't have an option for anything else. Also their stadium ran £400m over budget which means they are fucked financially in the medium term. In all businesses, if you don't have any options you don't have any options. It's the every definition of getting special treatment.

You’re arguing that two of the Top Six get results, but five of the Top Six, plus four others, are outweighed by City alone? ANYBODY lobbies AGAINST the top 6, get told to politely fuck off. Okay, I can accept the logical structure of your argument. But I guess I have trouble believing that the PL told Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool (plus us and three others) to fuck off re City, but then said giddy up to Tottenham and Liverpool alone re us. I don’t think any of the Top Six clubs have the sort of power to intervene that many assume. Sure, they have some leverage in some contexts - they will always threaten to break away and form a super league and attempt to hold that over the PLs head, but they’ve been talking about it for 30 years, and hasn’t happened for a lot of good reasons. I just can’t see an argument that Tottenham or Liverpool could make that would move the PL an inch. What leverage does Daniel fucking Levy have? Well if the lobby is destined to fail then Spurs and Man U might add some weight to it to mask the corruption. The main thing about corruption is you cover your arse.

So he's staying. But the bookies will make a nice little earner from the speculation.

The same player Chris Waugh and Caulkin were saying was going to challenge the first-team and given a chance in pre-season only a few days ago Absolutely clueless I do think this is the right move however You talking about the club, or the journalists that got it wrong?

Classic old-style centreforward play. We won't see his like again. Always gets neglected how good his passing and crossing was too. Could have got another 50 if he was on the end of his own crosses Not true. His crossing ability was renowned all over.

You're saying this as fact, rather than opinion. Depends who you believe of course. Which deleted account were you btw? Godzilla? Both the PL and buyer have said this - it’s about the only thing they both agree on. Staveley through her various interviews and the PL through their propaganda session just before PIF ‘withdrew’ claiming there was an impasse due to the make up of the organisations. Plus it’s also what I’ve heard, unofficially, and makes the most sense as legally the PL couldn’t reject the takeover based on the piracy. I reckon you're both correct. The reason for the delay is the makeup of the consortium, but the reason that is a concern is definitely linked to the Tv rights issue.

Question is whether it's their responsibility to inform the PL. I have every reason to suspect that would be Ashley's job. He [as the one with the existing relationship and contractual agreements] informs the PL of the sale and provides details of the proposed new owners, for the PL to check. Unless anybody can confirm this to be incorrect.
