One Maxi isn't enough for Eddie.

Well yeah, of course. You only judge them through what they do for the club. So far the Reuben[s?] have kept a low profile and looked quite disinterested the times he put his head above the parapet. But MAM & DAD have, so far, embraced the club, the fans, the city, everything. Beyond that is way beyond my influence.

Do they mean we're close to doing a deal at 25 or 25 is close to sealing the deal at 28. God help me.

Newcastle United vs. Manchester City - 21/8/22 @ 4:30pm (Sky Sports)

Can't wait for this. Got so many reasons to dread it, but some to remain hopeful. We've kind of struggled so far, particularly Brighton, and while I'm not saying we weren't prepared for Brighton it was an equal match, likely only ever to be won by something unusual or special. The City game we know, not what to expect as such, but what is expected of us. -
Hopefully that inspires the lads for the City game.

Despite looking exactly like that when on loan, and the reason we signed him. Another example of Bruce seeking the easy way out. I still say Willock benefitted from Bruces lack of a plan as it gave him the freedom to express himself. I don't think he expressed much, but what he did do was learn how to play with Maxi. How to exploit the openings his hard work would create. He's just not doing it with Bruno. Like I say he needs to assert himself again. Man City could be his opportunity to shine, no room for casual observers this weekend.
-
I think he could come on in any of the 3 AM positions and change a game. Think he's also useful for CM if we need to defend with a counter attack opportunity.
-
In comparison with other unagreed fees. Yes.
-
Exactly. We should have £35million players of potential that we can reject offers for.
-
Somebody like Pedro, sharing the burden of giving Wilson a rest at the end of games that are won, would help to keep him fit.
-
Can certainly see why Watford would ask for more than what we were willing to pay for Ekitike.
-
This is the thing. He might not have the same potential as Ekitike, but he's more PL ready. If he can contribute and maintain is value, then this transfer is a down payment on the next level. Alternatively he turns out to be better than Ekitike and we've saved a fortune.

To be fair, 8 months ago we struggled against Cambridge.
-
Yeah. I just get the feeling Harrison is at his peak, and a somewhat guaranteed success at the right price, which Leeds wouldn't accept.
-
When we signed him, I think he would have been disappointed to be back-up/supersub, but I think that should be his level this season.
-
Things can obviously happen simultaneously, but I'm resigned to one more, right now. Any more than that is a bonus.
-
When you see that and think we could have had Harrison for that, it's understandable to be slightly underwhelmed. But I'm not convinced Harrison was available at 35. I've no idea of player values, I assume everybody overvalues their assets. But once they express a willingness to sell then I don't think meeting the value should be necessary, in fact I'd say it was foolish.
-
Fair point. But I think it might say something that we're targeting players with PL experience as they would be more likely to have experienced the current atmosphere.
-
Doesn't look like it. Have they signed anybody to make us envious?
-
Yeah but they have facilities of a PL club. I don't think you can underestimate the difference that makes to somebody looking to earn in excess of £100k per week.

Shola must be good with the youngsters you'd think, so he's probably worthy of a job in there somewhere.
