  1. Unbelievable what a bit of hype can do. Still cant believe we got £30m for this waster. If he was never involved with the euros we maybe would have gotten 15 - 20 million for him but because he hit a few shots over the bar in the final and the media starting wanking over it he's worth 10 million extra. Incredible.
  2. What's wrong with having an opinion that they will exactly? It's not like they're a bad team. And we're also good but hardly invincible, we have already suffered three bad defeats this season. It's not a game I'd like us to lose but I can see it being one of the blips on the road to the title this season that's all. Anyway it's too early to be arguing over a game that's not until Janaury anyway so lt's wait until then and see what happens. It will be interesting. Also I'll not be told to get a grip by a man who said he'd sell Sissoko for less than 5 million 'just to be rid of him'
  3. Second half was piss easy and we dominated virtually all of it but that was helped by them having ten men for the majority of it. Sure they hit the bar and all just after HT so they had their chances. I know we did as well but it was a close match until that red card in the 58th minute.
  4. Rafa Benitez is 100% responsible for Real Madrid's Champions League triumph. No I am not applyng normal logic here I am applying Mackem Logic. Mackem Logic says: Rafa Benitez in charge of 10 of Newcastle's 38 games = Totally responsible for their relegation Rafa Benitez in charge of 25 Real Madrid matches = Totally responsible for their success that season especiialy give he managed 15 more games than he did at Newcastle. So there ye go fellas. Rafa might have been at fault for a team's relegation last year, but he was also responsible for a team's eventual triumph in club football's greatest prize. There is nohing wrong with this logic, none whatsoever. All makes perfect sense.
  5. Would have to disagree that he's unproven. What he done at Dortmund was a great job which proves he's got what it takes to bring teams far. Winning two Bundesliga titles and setting a new record for total number of points for a Bundesliga winning season at the time. Also got them to the UCL final and won the club its first ever double. He definitely put Dortmund right back on the map after they fell off it a good bit between 2003 and 2010. Of course he is not as successful or as proven as Rafa is but not a whole abundance of managers are. Most managers in the Premier League can only wish they had half his success.
  6. Definitely think Brighton will beat us at their place. We've been good but so have they. They've lost fewer than us too and our victory over them was only so convincing in the end because the sending off killed the game. Until then they were running us close. There's still 31 games to go so too early to nail us on for a 10. I think with how well we've played bar the three obvious mishaps 9 is a fair vote anything lower than 8 is dismissing our excellent form. If we can get passed the Christmas period and still be several points ahead of the chasing back I think we're nailed on to go up. But as Rafa himself would suggest there is still a long way to go and nothing's been achieved yet.
  7. In fairness they probably deserved to go into the break with a lead we were very poor first half by the looks/sounds of it. Second half was much better but yeah Preston definitely have an argument that they deserved a point but too bad that's what happens when you're up against the best you lose even when you feel you should have drawn (or won according to some PNE fans)
  8. Just watched Norwich and Brighton highlights myself. Holy fook Norwich are going nowhere if that's how they plan to defend. Really embarrasing they defended like the Norwich of old that went down to league one. If anyone fancies a lesson in how to never defend they gave more than enough examples. Players not picking up their men, players losing the ball with ease, players slipping and a horrid concentration level in general. I guess the good thing for them is they wont be facing the likes of us and Brighton every week who will take the chances they will so easily give away. But they'll throw a lot more points away yet unless there's a serious improvement becuase that was shocking.
  9. How long can poor refereeing go on without the FA acting on it. I have refereed myself, I know it can be tough, but jesus not that tough. All you've to do is keep fit and make sure you get 8 hours sleep the night before your game so you're alert and focused and your ability to recognise fouls isnt all over the place like these English League jokers. If you work hard and do everything you can to stay alert you'll have a good game and there will be no problems. These English League refs can't do that.
  10. I feel very awkward with this being the top stickied thread.
  11. They look absolute s***, but there's still 28 games to go Yep Bournemouth and Hull next. One team almost as s*** as them and one team I believe are worst than them. Too early to get excited yet. Bournemouth are a good side, expect them to beat the Mackems handily. You're right about Hull tho. Yeah I agree they ball good football and all but I just think they're more than capable of a bad performance and could slip up and draw vs the mackems, but I hope not. Hope it's 5-0 to Bournemouth. That'd be most enjoyable.
  12. Aye, let him f*** Gateshead over instead. I know I am a prick for saying it, but fuck it, better them than us.
  13. Holy fuck man. This Chris Kavanagh prick must have something against North East teams. Shit for Sunderland the other night in all fairness and shit for us today almost cost us the game man. Fucking joker needs to be demoted to the National league. Fucking hell, my hearts gone.
  14. They look absolute s***, but there's still 28 games to go Yep Bournemouth and Hull next. One team almost as shit as them and one team I believe are worst than them. Too early to get excited yet.
  15. Aye Short always used the derby game to give him an idea of when to pull the trigger. Always just 2 - 5 games before playing us to go into the derby on a new manager buzz and then get an easy 3 points from a despertae Newcastle team with a clown (Pardew/Carver/Mclaren) in charge of it and extend that high which would see them then gather enough points to stay up. They've not got that to help them plan this time Hopefully the trigger is pulled at the wrong time, this time.
  16. Surely it going to get to the point where no decent manager will want to go near them considering their high tendency to pull the trigger as soon as things start to go a little wrong. I'm loving David Moyes at the moment, doing a fantastic job, but that could still all change. It's only the start of the season, he could still get them going and secure them their precious and beloved 17th place in the league come May and make me dislike him again. They'd be made to sack him now. They should wait until they play Hull at home, if he doesn't win that then fair enough he's lost it. But that could be their turning point a win there and a point or three against Bournemouth too is possible. I hope not as I want them to burn as much as anyone, but just can't see them going down. I so want to be wrong.
  17. Dont blame him joking about the fact Ashely changed the name. It is a joke tbf thar he done that. He's brought so much shame and embarrasment to our club. If we won the EPL tomorrow I still wouldn't forget the shambolic years they preceded it. We've been a laughing stock. Thankfully things are on course to change now, bit only after so much hard failurs.
  18. A home match against them or leeds or away to leeds woul have been easier. Cant complain though could have got United, Arsenal or Liverpool. Highly unlikely we'll win the cup given Arsenal, Liverpool and United all have their eyes on winning it and they're much better teams. But nevertheless a semi final would be a great achievment itself given we're a second division side and what not. Bring it on!
  19. Would be devastated if Moyes got the boot. He's doing so well ;(
  20. He's one of our shittest players unquestionabley but deserves no harm to be done onto him. He tries his best, his best is just not good enough 90% or more of the time. But hope he's alright and there's not too bad.
  21. Gayle can't not start after banging in a 11 and winning us game against Bristol and Barnsley on the road already with top class forward play. Mitro and Atsu will come on if we're chasing the game in the last 15 or so minutes. Atsu may also be used as a counter attacking option if we're 0-1 up and they're pilling forward late on. Nobody really deserves to be dropped everyone's been good pretty good lately. A win would be a fantastic result because these are in top form and already taken points off our rivals.
