Love the way the club acts now behind the scenes - making signings like Isak out the blue is more exciting to me than long drawn out saga's in the UK media. Think it was a Spanish paper that broke the Isak deal last year, we signed him the next day.

That list of 5 Edwards has put up all improve our squad. It will part of the strategy, looking for a Pope type signing from relegated Burnley last season. 1-2 of these type alongside 2-3 higher profile (see Botman/Isak last summer). Personally be delighted with one of Barnes/Maddison + Lavia. KWP also be sound for cover at both right and left back. As a few have said i think 5-6 first team quality would be a great summer. RCB, LB, CM x2, RW and then a versatile attacking player. In this case, Schar, Burn, Willock, Longstaff, Miggy and 1 other becoming your 'squad' players isn't half bad considering they all just played a huge part in finishing top 4.

I'd imagine Tierney will be the first through the door and would be a decent start for ~£30m

Christ. We're an injury away from Jacob Murphy starting RW every week. Gordon absolutely improves our first 11, and then our squad depth as a knock on. An aside to that is 15 months ago we had Mike Ashley and Steve Bruce at the club. FFS give Ashworth, Howe etc the respect and trust they have more than earned.

This. I've never understood the 'we need to buy cover' as in lower quality players than our first 11 now. Buy first 11 quality and let the squad competition become the cover. Longstaff/Willock would be decent squad players compared to the lack of cover we have now anyway.

That would be a dream signing. Yes, the price tag will be big but he will probably fit into our wage structure. Can't imagine he's on bucket loads having signed for Napoli in the summer for only a £10m fee. Hard to adjust our mindsets but if we carry on our form this season, this is certainly a realistic signing in the summer.
