Agree and the thing we have above all else is a coach that will improve anyone that comes in as well as the toughest atmosphere in the league to play under (alongside Anfield imo). Marry those up with a team spirit we've developed since the takeover and we will still be sniffing around the top 4 next season. Amen to this. It's more in the Chelsea/Man City ilk of buying youth that you can sell on at a later date. Literally investment as a way of balancing FFP. City have many examples of this, a few actually went to Southampton last season? We aren't used to it, but the winger Minteh at Feyenoord on loan this season may never play a first team game for us. But signing at £6m we could bank a profit on him within 1-2 years if he does well on a loan or two.
