Not the whole story obviously, but our finances do look in reasonable shape based on this, especially if we can get CL. Still baffled as to how Villa are going to meet this UEFA wage ratio, despite the money they’ll have brought in this season.

Bit close to going down the Adam Johnson route if his leaked Insta messages are to be believed.

Surely Evan Ferguson is this era’s Connor Whickham? Dibling has probably already looked more impressive at PL level than Whickham ever did. Mind you he needs to make sure his next choice of club isn’t one that continually stinks out the lower half of the league and bases their definition of a success entirely on how it reflects against their local rivals.

How the fuck did Ryder get himself into a UFC press conference?

If you applied, you’ve got a ticket. They’ll just be sending them out in batches given the huge numbers.

I’ve looked at these posts and then the next time I’ve gone on YouTube, both videos are in my suggested viewing. These algorithms are off the scale.

Not sure about that? Wembley was virtually half empty for many England games pre-Euro 96. It was also falling to bits.

Interesting little bit here (about 7:50 in) from Adam Rowe (scouse comedian) who was at the final: https://youtu.be/XH2DkAqwG4I?si=xDBWagKzEokxkeqC

Very unlikely we’re able to get anyone remotely close to Isak’s level tbh. Any player of that calibre won’t want to play second fiddle, even if we do have an increased number of games to play next season. As has been pointed out before, Spurs struggled for years to find a Kane backup, and only really managed when they came across Son who could play dual roles. Ideally, that’s probably what we would like, a high quality RW, who can also play CF. Not many of them about though, and those that are will likely cost a premium. Failing that, you’re probably looking a getting someone of DCL’s calibre, that will accept being backup.

I would imagine Huijsen opted for Bournemouth because they agreed to a (non-prohibitive) release clause. That’s no good for us.

Exactly. It’s great having that kind of strategy, especially for a club of their size, but it’s yet to get anyone to break into the CL places. Only teams to have done that are ourselves and Villa, who have been able to invest more heavily on ‘established’ talent. That’s not to dismiss that method completely, there’s clearly merit in getting some players from that kind of market, but if it’s going to be your predominant market, don’t expect it to get you to the real top end.

Modify. Much like the Black Cat Bar at Stadium of Light.

No, but I suspect the plan is to hopefully give one to everyone that’s applied. But until they have those numbers they don’t know.

Ian Wong is the Mr Big. The Albanians* were just the foot soldiers. Probably on a tenner for every scarf they could source back to Wong and his OCG pals. *obviously I’ve no idea if the bloke was actually Albanian. He had that sort of Balkan Albanian/Romanian/Bulgarian look about him. So I went with Albanian on alphabetical order.
-
When we were heading back down Wembley Way after the match, some Albanian-looking fella came up to my mate and offered him a fiver for his scarf, which he obviously refused. I see what the plan was now!

There was however no issue with Sunderland ST holder Jeff Brown being one of the main presenters for years.

If there’s anyone is a parade, then no.

You can probably blame it on questionable communication from the club (again), but it seems astonishing how many people don’t actually know, or understand, what is planned.
-
Apparently he’s already turned down MotD because he wanted to keep doing our games (may have had other personal reasons too like).

Been said plenty of times before, but he really is an elite commentator. The footage of him calling the final whistle is tremendous. Looks as emotional as the rest of us, but still manages to stay composed and deliver his words.
