  1. Because they didn't break any rules. Outside the PL teams are allowed to designate up to 3 games a season as "special promotion" games where they can effectively take the p*ss by doing stuff like that. Why on earth the "special promotion" doesn't have to be extended to away fans I have no idea, but there you go. As for Sheff Wed, I get the feeling they would actually like to give us a larger allocation, as they did Villa and Leeds, but they're having some kind of ding-dong with the police, probably over costs. Hopefully it gets sorted. That doesn't excuse the ticket prices mind.
  2. South Yorkshire Police have just (surprisingly) replied to a tweet I sent them asking about the allocation, saying "ticket allocation is being discussed between the police and the club next week". So hopefully a further allocation to come.
  3. Seems utterly ridiculous given they allowed Leeds almost twice as many. Can only assume it's the ko time that's made them s*it the bed.
  4. Reading always ko at 8pm. Don't know why? Possiblt something to do with the massive chow on of actually getting to the ground from Reading town centre.
  5. ..but how many games were defeats...?? We've lost one match this year in the league and look at some of the overreaction. Remind me how many times we have come from behind to get points this season... Three. Twice in the last three games. ...and to get THREE points..?? Two
  6. If we're chucking random stats out - we've only been behind in the league away from home for 129 mins all season, so not really had much chance to 'come back'.
  7. Looking at Sky's PL picks for the weekend of our game at Sheff Wed it looks like the only slot they've got left is 5:30pm on the Sat. We're planning on stopping over on the Sat night so that's fine for us but if you're planning on getting the train back after the match you'll have to get replacement buses between York and Darlington: http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/service_disruptions/currentAndFuture.aspx?TravelDate=08%2F04%2F2017&TOC=

  9. Although .com have changed what they've put up to say it's two. So it's probably two.
  10. No-one seems sure. I think it's one based on the fact didn't accumulate 5 before the cut-off to get a one-game ban earlier in the season. David David from Birmingham got his 10th booking on Feb 10th and got a two game ban but he'd already had a one game ban for reaching 5 in October.
  11. Seems to be if you got a one match ban for reaching 5 yellows, you'll get a two match ban if you get 10 before March 12th. However if, like Richie, you didn't get the first ban because you didn't reach 5 yellows before the cut off (December or whenever it was), you'll only get a one match ban if you reach 10 before March 12th. Or everyone might just get two games when they get to 10.
  12. Sheff Wed although as it was Boxing Day it's not quite the same.
  13. I reckon early KO Saturday looks the best bet. Imagine that's what the police would push for.
  14. Worse than that, we've lost them all. That's appalling Almost defies the law of averages. To be fair they were all away apart from Sheff Wed on Boxing Day, so if you want to put a positive spin on it we've won 50% of our Monday night home games over the last 4 years....
  15. One of them will be getting moved. Not sure why we're playing on the Saturday anyway, given the majority of the Championship are playing Good Friday?
  16. Members today. General Thursday.
  17. I don't know why the negativity surrounding Gouffran, as he does graft but he also very rarely gives the ball away. He could do more going forward but his attacking isn't helped by Dummett not overlapping and protecting Dummett defensively. You don't think Atsu would perhaps be a better bet at home against teams in the bottom half? We've dropped too many points at home this season due to an over negative approach. You could also point out that the teams we've dropped points against at home in the bottom half were Wolves, Blackburn and QPR, and Gouffran only played in one of those.... Although it's still a fair assumption that Atsu gives probably gives us more attacking threat.
  18. I'd imagine a lot of people are waiting for confirmation on the Sheff Wed game (currently Sat 8th 3pm), as we'll be taking a big following. As the Burton game is confirmed as Wed 5th i'd assume Sheff Wed definitely won't be moved to the Friday night. You'd still think it'll get moved though as there's only really Norwich v Reading out of the other fixtures that looks of interest.

Hope they've got fax machines in Gabon...
  20. This - highly likely now, esp as P45Due is now available.... "Highly likely" You won't be LOL if Benitez walks at the end of the season.....you'll learn... Get yourself down to the bookies and enquire what price they'll give you on Rafa being manager at the start of next season and what price they'll give you on Pardew being manager. Then come back and tell us so we can discuss which one is "highly likely"..... ..and what odds would the bookies have given for JokeKinnear getting the manager's job for a second time..?? If you think the bookies can predict what Ashley would do in any situation, you are a lot more trusting of them than I am...these are the people who predicted that the UK would not vote for Brexit or the US elect Trump.. Incidentally, I am interested in what odds the bookies would give you on Rafa NOT being manager next season without including Pardew as his replacement..have you checked that one out yet..!?? I think what you're struggling to grasp is not of these events are or were "highly likely". Is there a possibility that Rafa might not be our manager next season - yes, is it "highly likely" - clearly not. Anyway, enough, as the whole debate is relatively pointless.

  22. Who does have the best squad in the Championship then? The side that wins it...and regardless of what anyone thinks a strong squad would not lose 3-0 at a Div 1 side. If NUFC have the strongest squad there must be some strong squads in Div 1 then.. Why must there be "some strong squads in Div 1"? On that basis there must be some strong squads in the Championship because Wolves have just beaten Liverpool reserves. To suggest our squad is anything other than very strong in comparison to the rest of the Championship is just utter stupidity. Our first choice XI might be streets ahead but the fall off afterwards is precipitous. Is it though? Is there a better reserve centre-back pairing in the league than Mbemba and Hanley? Are there two better reserve strikers than Mitrovic and Perez? Half the team at Oxford was the reserve reserves. Having said that let's get our best 11 back on the pitch and all will be good.

  25. They've just released another batch taking our allocation up to 4,200 so there may be a possibility they end up on general sale. Even if they don't though, as has been said you'll probably be able to pick one up on Twitter with that size of allocation. Only issue with that can be sorting payment and pick-up, unless the seller is going to the game themselves and you can meet them there.
