  1. Credited with 9 tackles yesterday. Which is an obscene number for an attacking player.
  2. Is all a coping mechanism. Obviously we’ve lost derbies recently and in the past, some deservedly (not all mind), but there’s never been a absolute gulf in class like was evident yesterday. It’s palatable to tell yourself ‘they were better than us today, never mind’. But it’s a lot more difficult to admit ‘these are a completely different class to us, we’re miles behind them’, so you need something to lessen that reality.

Since the draw was made, they’ve sacked the manager, turned against the ownership, and now the supporters/flag group has packed in. Probably best they stay away from us for a bit longer.
  4. Because it’s a coping mechanism / comfort blanket for them.
  5. Birmingham v Villa has always seemed quite nasty to me? @brummie might be able to comment further?
  6. Yeah, that does look ‘off’ tbf. At best I think that might be what he was on when we first signed him, but he’s signed a new deal since then which I’m fairly sure would have been a rise.
  7. A few faces spotted in the away end: Ryan Taylor Matty Longstaff Michael Oliver Stephen Miller (Paralympian) Shola and Nobby were apparently in the Mag Cat Bar with the corporates.
  8. Was he not? He was at the match cos I saw him standing about outside the ground on the way in.
  9. Eddie says “thigh” and “big negative of today”. But in fairness he looked to be moving OK at the the end.

Indeed. Imagine that had been at SJP and we’d been able to make attacking subs…
  11. Aye, love the all for one and one for all attitude we have. Showcased by Longstaff getting straight in O’Niens face when he went through Miley. Presumably asking why he wasn’t prepared to do that to Joelinton…

It really wasn’t. Loads of young lads there.

I think this is fair. Thought their home support was fucking woeful like. Mind you when you barely have the ball and hardly muster a shot, it’s almost inevitable.
  14. Aye, their hiatus in the lower leagues had made me forget the torture of the night before. Brain whirring, stomach churning. Roll on 6am….
  15. Ironically not far off the time we have to get up to attend the match….

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

De-register Tonali, Manquillo and Gillespie and you’re sorted. Although probably a little iffy de-registering one of the keepers whilst Pope’s out.
  18. Fucking hell man ?????? https://x.com/jimj1892/status/1743008760333750359?s=46&t=OQLMckSuatbpqWF13Al4mQ
  19. Feel like it’s a big presser for him tomorrow. He normally judges the prevailing mood very well and pitches what he says accordingly. Obviously we’re in a horrible run and he can’t really be particularly bullish (if he ever is that) but at the same time you always want to be giving off an air of confidence and surety going into these games. Always confident he’ll get it right though, and we’ll all feel much better having listened to him.
  20. Yep, this has completely changed the narrative that was building following the Liverpool game. Gone from ‘Mags are shitting themselves, let’s get into them’ to ‘Mags are taking the piss, sack everyone’.
