  3. Did Saliba not sign for Arsenal and then go out on loan for a season, as opposed to Hall, who came to us on loan for a season and then signed permanently (only for the purposes of pushing the payment to a different PSR period)? So I suppose what I’m asking is, is there a difference between being on loan FROM a club and being on loan AT a club? God knows tbh.
  4. Because he’s under 21 and he’s been at the club for a continuous period of two years.
  5. Think it might depend whether his loan season counts or not? It’s three years at the club between 15-21.
  6. We had the eight before adding those two, and we should be OK going forward with Miley and Hall to add to it. We really need some academy players to come through though, to help us get genuinely close to having an elite squad for this level.
  7. The length of time at the club is only relevant if you are STILL under 21. So for example, once Miley is over 21, he’ll have to go on the A list.
  8. Yeah, he’ll be on the B list with Miley. He was on the A list last time, even though he was younger, but it seems he’s now been at the club the required length of time for that not to be the case this time.
  9. Basically the result of replacing Longstaff with Ramsey, is Lascelles missing out. Which I think everyone would have accepted.
  10. Squad announced. Two keepers. No Lascelles. Hall must be on B list after all. https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/clubs/59324--newcastle/squad/

    Nick Woltemade

Yeah, I think it’ll be Wissa, assuming his fitness and sharpness is decent enough. But, it doesn’t hurt to have Woltemade getting a few extra days of learning, even if it’s more theoretical than practical given the lack of numbers.

Helpful that Germany’s qualifiers are done by Sunday. Should get the best part of a week for Eddie to start indoctrinating him with what’s required before the Wolves game.
  13. Club statement said he was welcome back to training when he was ready / could be arsed.
  14. If I was being massively stereotypical (and potentially a bit racist), I’d say Wissa looks like he’s got the same genetic makeup as them Kenyans that knock out two-hour marathons, so he should be sound.
  15. Don’t think he ever scored an open play goal for us in the last 10 mins of a game he started? Mind, Liverpool’s additional strength in depth should mean he’s playing less when clearly fucked.

Ever do Pilates with Parish @Alan Pardew?

Possibly, that’s what happens with the vast majority of very good young Germans not already with them. But they’ve been burnt if that was the case.

We kinda assume they did, but given they couldn’t afford Woltemade, did they just not bother with the other two as they knew they would be priced out, with PL clubs willing to pay the asking fee? Out of the three, you could argue that Woltemade is the biggest risk in that he’s only really done it for half a season, but I guess it probably doesn’t matter whether you’ve done it for 6 months or 6 years in the Bundesliga, the move from there to the PL is always a bit iffy. But not all clubs are managed by Eddie Howe, and that may end up being the difference.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Tbf to him, I reckon he probably despises having to knock up that Deal Sheet shite every week during the window.

That Jan-May period when he first signed was arguably the best collection of goals ever scored by an NUFC player in a limited period of time.

Thing with AFCON is that so many games end up being 1-0 or 0-0, it doesn’t take much for a supposedly ‘better’ team to have a bit of bad luck and end up going out.
